I stopped drinking a few years ago so I'm pretty across the non alc options, most INT flights QF have Heineken 0.0 (Dom J also) as do most dom lounges, sometimes you get better stuff like Heaps Normal. International lounges seem to be better SIN has/d zero alc Gin for mocktails(Zero alc gin and tonics are actually pretty good) HK has heaps normal. Japanese airlines are pretty good and have their local non alc option. options are steadily growing

I've tried a few and found them to not be particularly pleasant, so I'd rather just drink water than zero alcohol pretend drinks. Also, the price of such drinks is over the top, as there is no duty/tax/whatever on them, so they should cost no more than the average Coke, etc.

If you don't want an alcoholic drink why bother with a lame substitute. Just my point of view, but I understand that others' opinions/tastes will vary.

I’m 99% sure QF carry Heineken zero’s. Definitely in the lounges but on board too.

Qatar Airways serves a "luxury non-alcoholic bubbly" in J/F and in its first class lounge. I tried it last week and it was fine, but didn't really taste like champagne at all - just a nice sparkling grape juice/cider.

Beer I agree, it just doesn’t work.

Spirits … well, not spirits per se, but a lot of mocktails using some of the faux spirits are really tasty! Problem is that stuff’s a PITA to make & hence has a lot of costs for what you get, but setting that aside heaps of those are super tasty!

And as @Mattg says, a decent number of sparkling no-alcohol wines are interesting & tasty sparkling grape juices; the traditional ones like Grapetizer are overwhelmingly sweet.

Vegan prawns would be an improvement? I always thought snails were like prawns but without the rotting-seaweed component of the flavour …

But yeah trying to be meat is a bit of a fail if you’re a vegetable. Better tasting (and probably less unhealthy due to the lack of the need for all sorts of fats/oils to add not-really-meat flavour) alternatives abound without pretending to not be what you are, Mr Potato!

I love a non alc sparkling wine... As far as I know though QF only have non alc beer which as mentioned before is Heineken 0. The F lounge in SIN does have sparkling wine without alcohol.

Zero Alc is a growing market and there are actually some good ones out there.. I really like the Red Hill Pinot Noir Zero.

After I exercised myself into an arrhythmia IN had to basically choose between riding 15 hours a week and booze which was a pretty easy decision(for me riding...) but sometimes you just want something bubbly and refreshing and not sweet. A few years ago I'd agree that NA was pretty poor but in the last 4 years the rise of craft NA or more specifically the ultra low .5% beers rather than the big manufacturers 0.0 which due to the way the remove the ethanol end up pretty thin and tinny tasting. I have a couple of NA beers almost every day now and really couldn't tell the difference with some.

For the first little while after giving up booze in australia you get unending stick from people but I've generally found replying with something along the lines of "I dunno man I guess my life just doesn't require daily sedation to forget about" usually shuts people up hahaha, and to be fair I do miss a PDB or caraf of house wine at lunch in Paris
