TKS anat0l. Think we may have to fly from BCN the day before. If it all went pear shaped, trying to resurrect an AA J award on CX to HKG/BKK at short notice, could be challenging.

Eh, not such a bad thing. Enjoy some time in Zurich. Yes, it might be an expensive day trip, but everyone always goes around Switzerland when they visit Europe, never in it. A modest hotel, a bit of a wander around Lake Zurich and a modest meal and drink may not be pennies but it will not cost the world.

Or drive over from an adjacent country. ( but more time would be required). A different way to see the countryside.
