Can't use Velocity points with Happy Hour

Hi

Today I tried to book a fare Brisbane-Melbourne during Virgin's Happy Hour.

All went well until the payment screen. The screen indicated I could use my frequent flyer points (minimum of 5000) and to use the slider to indicate how many points I was using. But there was no slider.

Rang Virgin and ended up talking to 4 different people, none who seemed to able to explain why I could not use my points. The last person I spoke to said I couldn't use my points during the happy hour. But he wan't entirely convincing

So I paid the full cost so as not to loose my booking. Later I went looking and I could find nothing in the terms and conditions for the Happy Hour saying points couldn't be used. And if it was, why have an option on the payment screen?

Hopefully someone can throw some light on this for me.

You either book a rewards seat with the option of cash and points or you book a cash ticket without that option. There is a little box at the top of the booking screen that says ' Use Points +Pay' click that box and your on your way.
