Thanks.
I can understand excluding Adelaide as it is a tiny lounge but I wonder why Perth is not included.

Only four hours a day, only four days a week. which isn't much.

But here's how i could make it pay : I work with musicians. If i had a 5-piece band travelling between Brisbane/Sydney/Melbourne/Hobart, we could buy a return ticket for one of their grandmothers. The free meals and drinks would be worth more than the extra ticket, and someone's grandma gets to feel all rock and roll.

I'm tempted to let my 76 year old mother know but she would tell all her Probus/bowls/ golf friends and before you know it the SYD lounge would be chockablock full of Central Coast "seniors" attacking the buffet like there's no tomorrow and complaining about the Plats taking the best seats and hassling the girls at the desk about the pros and cons of 25E as opposed to 19C

best let this one go to the keeper

Poor mother :p

I wonder if the mums or whomever, get access on a redemption. I am thinking this will be a nice little perk for a friend who's never been in a lounge before so we could build flights around it.

Accessing the lounge
Your lounge access is valid for up to two hours prior to departure, however it doesn’t cover connecting or arrival lounges. When you arrive you’ll need to provide your lounge access confirmation email and a form of photo ID/Senior’s card. Lounge access is redeemable for all domestic economy flights at any of the following departure locations: Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Darwin, Cairns, Alice Springs, and Mackay. Complimentary access to the lounge will be valid for travel between May and June 2016.

from the T&C's
"...Only one Lounge pass per flight per person is available. This offer permits guests to enter the Lounge 1 hour prior to flight departure only. Entry to the Lounge for Single Entry is subject to space availability and may be restricted during peak periods and when the lounge is at or nearing full capacity..."

might pay to confirm directly if you are using this offer.

So if you have prebooked a ticket already for flight in May....you don't get access to offer?

Did you read the T&C's on the link I posted above ?

"Single Lounge Entry offer available for bookings made 4 April-midnight 17 April 2016, when booking off-peak domestic economy fares departing Monday-Thursday between 11am-3pm. Offer available for travel from 1 May– 30 June 2016. Available at all Virgin Australia domestic lounges except for the Lounge in Adelaide. At least one person named in the booking must be aged 60 years or older to be eligible. All guests on the one reservation number will be eligible for Lounge entry as long as one guest is aged 60 years or older"

I'd say it's reasonably obvious

Thanks for a good heads-up Princess Fiona. Won't be able to use it this time but I have passed it on to a few friends in my age demographic.

So no....... Poor form VA......

Probably not, but there's no harm in calling and asking.

I wouldn't say it's poor from VA. The promotion is providing lounge access to people that wouldn't normally have access.

Would you rather there be no promotion at all because you're ineligible?

If you run a promo for a select period and people..... It would have been better PR to allow those that prepaid in advance to access during the times/ dates as per t&c instead of having to book within the time frame to get access......

But most promos do a time limit. Eg, it may be double points/status if you book during a particular week. Too bad if you booked yesterday - that sort of thing.

Is it just me or is the link now not working - I get an Access Denied page from the Virgin Holiday website?

I've been denied access too, maybe they've moved it to another page?

The promotion should still be available though.

I can't imagine many savvy over 60s complying with everything required for this promotion. My parents would never 'get it'. For starters they still think you need to be at the airport 2 hours before a domestic flight!

The link doesn't appear to be working any longer... Any idea where /holidays/our-lounge-house is linked from? Think my parents could benefit from this offer.
