I used my free AMEX DJ flight for a Syd-Akl flight (guess what for??) which is on Air NZ. As a DJ plat, can I select my seat? Can't do it on DJ website, and when I rang DJ, after a lot of hesitation, she replied I could at the 14 days prior mark - I suspect this only applies to domestic DJ flights. Anyone know the right answer?

No, you can only select your seat on DJ-operated DJ-coded flights, or the SkyWest-operated ATR flights. So basically, only ex-Pacific blue flights across the Tasman.

Almost.

In Dec we had a MEL-AKL booking with DJ. It was a DJ flight, not a code share, but it turned out that the flight was operated by ANZ. (DJ were short of an airframe)

Because it was actually a DJ flight the Platinum desk was able to do the seat allocations and also allocate the duty 69kg baggage limit.
