Hi Everyone

I have a big Europe trip coming up and will earn ZILCH on any of the sectors I'm flying (yes I know I'm bad...but a couple were reward flights and other carriers not affiliated with Virgin at all that I had to use)

So....I need 100 status credits by the middle of September, and due to a busy work schedule will basically only have the 1st week of Sep to do anything.

Suggestions? Can family pool if I bring Mr Mella with me and a one night stopover

Just playing around with ideas.
If I booked Mel to Hamilton Island, the flight goes
Mel to Syd
Syd to Hamilton Island
I think on a saver fare I would get 10 for the 1st and 15 for the 2nd part...would that be correct?
If we both travelled that would be right on 100 credits

Perhaps transtasman. You are awarded per flight so you can take some crazy connections.
Or there is a J special on atm, MEL-OOL $399, 60SC

MEL-OOL is generally the cheapest way to get SC flying out of MEL.

Saver - 15; Flexi - 30; J - 60

So if you both go, two Flexi's will put you just over (earning 120SC), or you could do the same on your own flying J, which is usually about $1,000.

Unfortunately, that's not correct. Velocity doesn't work like that. Direct and non-direct flights are treated the same. Points and SC are calculated from origin to final destination.

loobloke beat me! Makes the 120 SC $6.60/SC which is pretty cheap. Not the absolute cheapest, but not far off IME.

Many thanks! Just booked Mel to OOL in J one way for both of us and then saver back.

Get the virgin flyer card then you can save yourself 50%! Works on Saver, flexi and J fares
