Hi,

This is my first thread post, so apologies if this isn't quite the correct board.

I've noticed that a Gold AFF membership provides the oppurtunity to join QP thorugh the AFF corporate scheme.

I think it would be great if AFF (/ we?) looked at doing a similar thing for The Lounge (or whatever it may be called after Wednesday).

I tried to search and couldn't find anything that had looked into this before. Any ideas on how it might work? And whether there is interest?

Cheers,
jlm

Could be a while before we see a Latrobe Valley lounge LOL, (thats from a former Traralgon Boy), but a good suggestion!

Just like the QP corporate deal, you need multiple members enrolled:

Corporate membership may be available to companies, corporations and businesses that enrol multiple individuals (10 or more) in The Lounge program. For all new Corporate membership enquiries please contact the Corporate Sales team 1300 287 202 or email [email protected]

Considering many regular members here were status matched as recently as last year to the top of Velocity, it’s unlikely there’ll be enough members that need to pay for access for at least a little while.

As with the QP scheme, status members with complimentary lounge access can still join and count in the numbers without paying a fee.

I’m not sure how, when I got SG I could no longer "renew" online as I already had the benefits. Are you suggesting that, or that members who were part of the scheme and have since gained status, are making up the numbers (like myself as my QP membership is on hold)?

I would hope that given the good relationships several Virgin staffers have with this forum that might be something that might want to offer regardless of whether the board can guarantee meeting the 10 member threshold or not.

Perhaps Crazy Dave, Virgin Blue or one of the other reps here could consider looking into it? If nothing else the fact that the country's largest FF forum offers incentives to fly with a competitor might be something that they want to even up?

Oh, but having said that it may not be the top of priority tree this week :)

Any QP member is counted in the corporate membership if they paid for it or not, so long as its group administered, you can no longer renew online if there is nothing to renew once making SG! When I worked for a large US chip manufacturer we had a group scheme and all the members were on hold as they were SG or WP.

I think that's a great idea, to have a special cut-price The Lounge membership package deal for AFF members. Count me in!

I'd be very interested in that sort of offering.

Yeah count me in too. I'm sure we could get 10 people quite quickly...

Cheers,

Re: Virgin Australia lounge AFF Corporate membership?

Looks like we've got some interest - which is great because the new lounge looks pretty good to me from the teaser image on the new website!

(I would have included the pic but I don't have 10 posts yet.. :( )

Hopefully a company rep and/or AFF admin might help us out on where to go from here?...

Perhaps Mods/admin could sticky this thread or post a thread with EOI and those interested could post up. Once you have ten names, get all the details and perhaps admin could liase with Virgin Australia.

Depending on further unveilings of products and services, and when my Gold membership expires, I could be interested in this.

I could be interested in this as well. Let me know what happens. I've often thought of this question too, so thanks jlm for raising it!

I'm a Lounge member anyway, but if it makes up the numbers.....by all means, count me in!

Velocity Silver members can purchase their annual membership at a discounted rate of $249 (including GST), with the joining fee waived.

An AFF corporate scheme that matched the pricing for Silver members would be great as far as I'm concerned.

Not sure if I'm asking too little/too much though..
