Re: A330 - XFA/B - Refit?

me too. hopefully the new J class seats are fully flat. I guess they have to be don't they if Virgin wants to match Qantas's new business class seats that are coming on their A330s.
Time will tell I guess. bring on Sept 22 :)

Re: A330 - XFA/B - Refit?

Oh they will be fully flat :p similar to..... Oh can't the 22nd be here already :D

Re: A330 - XFA/B - Refit?

It's zero secret they will be fully flat. GalleyFM is not a reliable source of information...

Yes poorly worded on my part as the current a330 seat is already lie-flat. The question is whether VA are going to have a surprise reveal of the new horizontal flat seat on the next a330 due to be delivered next week.

Why would be a surprise, we have known the new seats are coming for a while and it would be silly to deliver a new aircraft in the old spec?

Yet so many airlines still do that. It would be a surprise because it somehow hasn't been leaked or touted by VA in any way. I'm not saying it's not possible. I would like it to be true. I'm just not convinced that it is until I see proof. Not just someone being secretive about it.

Of course VA are going lie flat, they'd be shooting themselves if they didn't. I didn't get info from the Galley, got it from another source in VA.

think charcoal and grey as base colours, less than 5 Airlines currently fly it into Australia. ;)

Re: A330 - XFA/B - Refit?

This article says XFJ will have current J seat? (Was spokespersons announcement before or after results?). Can anyone confirm/deny otherwise?

hmmm they guys have said XFJ will be delivered with the new 1-2-1 J.. I'll double check! Doesn't make sense to deliver it with the current J and then refurb the widebody fleet again with new J by EOFY.

Re: A330 - XFA/B - Refit?

I doubt that XFJ will have the new seats given that the order for this plane was probably finalised before VA finalised their new J seat (and it still possible they haven't done that yet).

Either way i'm not too worried as the current J seat is quite good for trans-continental flights and beats Qantas' A330s and it would also mean that VA finally have same same product installed across the fleet.

Is that not the case currently for their 330 fleet? Both Awful and Broken have left the building have they not?

Re: A330 - XFA/B - Refit?

Broken left yesterday en route to SIN. VA have finalised their new J seat and it will be head to head as QF's new one.
