Are these different offers to the discussion on gift cards at supermarkets already discussed?

Re: Woolworths gift card offers

Forthcoming catalogue (commencing Feb 15) does not appear to have any gift card offers. First time in a long time that I can recall that no offer made in a catalogue.

This may make me rethink taking advantage of the current Myer gift card offer which ends tomorrow. Some easy bonus points for spending that I would normally do at Myer.

Re: Woolworths gift card offers

I went for 8 $500 Woolies gift cards for $3800 using my RAC card and used a Kris Flyer Platinum Amex to pick up 4560 Kris Miles. If I use those miles for a business or first class travel redemption that might have a retail value of about $270. Getting $470 saving off $3,800 is a bit better than bank interest.

Re: Woolworths gift card offers

Now we have separate threads for Coles and WW the next logical step would be to have a wiki for each so the current offers are in plain sight for all to see and updated on the go.

Re: Woolworths gift card offers

just had a look in store, can confirm no deals at all.

I think most of us would prefer to use our Edges via Cashrewards to gain 11400 MR = 11400 KF.

After using up all my 62 cards of the $88
Last night I sat down and did the maths

I normally pay those bills with visa card earning me. 625 pls per dollar

So by buying these cards I have saved $275 in discount

Plus an extra 7500qff points because I used my explorer

And I would have had any Xtra 13000 pls had I used a Plat edge.

So for the three hours I spent on self serve machines., checking card balances etc.

I earnt and extra 7500 qff points plus $275. Which is a cough load of points.

A good days work easily.
In hindsight I should have bought the remaining 100 or so at the shop

I love this!!!!!

anyone got any suggestions on my minor idea.

got a freind whos parents use the woolwrths gift at 5% but because htye are old ,they need a physical gift card, cashrewards has $5.50 delivery fee,
I believe they just go to racv and go pick it up,
however they said they are willign to give me the cash if I cna get them the physical gift cards,

any ideas to avoid delivery fees?

you can buy e-wish card, then goto woolies and buy physical card, u will need staff intervention, as the physical card got no value until staff enter it on the machine..i did that before near my woolies (not sure about others) to get the physical card for my mom..

This will nearly always work. Risk of knock-back reduced if you mix the card up with some groceries. I tend to use a manned checkout for this, not quite sure why I do

The trick here is not to be obvious you are looking to use an egiftcard until the operator has gone, easier at unmanned in my view.

are physical ww gift cards behind the counter or what?

I assume you have to get staff member to load the cards for you?

No they are on the racks
You can scan the card at selfserve but the assistant will need to approve. They also tend to swipe the card at the end of the tranaction for it to activate it (though you could do it yourself)
