I have the pleasure :D of flying JQ for a work trip in the next few days, I noticed on my BP that under my name it reads: "WCID, PBRD, WCID". I'm just curious if anyone has a clue as to what this means? Best guess is PBRD means preboard, but WCID has stumped me!

WCID, you've been identified as being eligible to use all the toilets on the plane.

Congratulations. :)

Has come up before.
Believed to mean Web Check-In (Domestic) - and may mark you out for an additional ID check

WCID = WheelChair Is Desirable (usually only seen on JQ35 boarding passes after F Lounge runs :p)
PBRD = Priority Boarding ... lol yeah right. No seriously that's what it means but good luck.

I flew 3K HKG-SIN recently and had PBRD on my boarding pass but it was never called.

They didn't call it in HKG the last time I was there either, although having to board the bus, it wouldn't have made a difference. Not sure if they called it in SIN though (too much lounge time), but I simply walked up to the gate and flashed the bp and walked through.

Yeah, it means those with such anotated on their BP can board before the start boarding by rows - if they call it!:evil:

On a recent JQ flight BNE/CNS they called for pax who had purchased Plus or Max fares to board first. There were two queues for boarding but I didn't see a single person turned back for not having purchased a Plus or Max fare & I do not believe for a minute all those pax were eligible for priority boarding.

I don't think the average JQ pax understands the 'Plus or Max' concept & its relationship to priority boarding & probably wouldn't remember the fare type they booked anyway.

It's not like QF PB where some pax deliberately use the PB queue when not entitled to. On JQ I don't think they're necessarily trying to queue jump, they just hear the boarding call rather than listen to it & get up to board.

I noticed that several pax in my vicinity sat down & slipped their thongs (flip flops for the benefit of those from LOTFAP) off once they got onboard & sat down. I had an aisle seat & there was no-one in the middle but the girl on the window seat after taking her thongs off put her left foot on the armrest in front of her leaning her left leg against the cabin wall for most of the flight. :rolleyes:

I don't have an issue with that. It would be very disconcerting though, if she also also had her right leg resting against the other cabin wall..... :shock:

My JQ pass today reads;
BG40 = 40kg luggage allowance
PRBD = Pre boarding eligible
WCID = web check in domestic
WCIS = ?

Web check in security check?
We can invariably suck?

BP Codes and what they stand for

For lack of reading material the other day, I was taking more interest in my JQ BP (boarding pass) than usual. Most of the 4 letter codes I could decipher, but some I could not. I have listed the ones I have seen to date, with my interpretation, and would appreciate anyone else's take on them:

LNGE: Lounge access included
PBRD: Priority boarding
SPML: Special meal

WCII: Wheel chair if inebriated
WCID: Water closet is desirable
WCIS: When comatose I snore

Any others?

I think WCIS is permanently applied to my profile!

Re: BP Codes and what they stand for

So it is. Acronym was the one word I didn't search for before starting the thread.

Happy for a mod to merge threads if so desired... Or we can just carry on regardless.

At the risk of being overly pedantic those are not acronyms because they are not pronouced as words. They are instead initialisms.
