On offer today via broker is 2014 Tyrells Vat 9 Shiraz, $100 down to $29.90 in a six pack.
[Edit: I was wrong, it is a McGuigan]

Reviews give it 4.3 on Vivino, most people saying it still needs to breathe though. I'm not much of a Hunter Valley fan...

2014 was a cracker year in Hunter Valley, if it is indeed a Hunter Valley Shiraz

Is the offer from VM broker? Interested to get a pack if it’s 29.9/ bottle

Have they specifically mentioned 2014 Tyrrells Vat 9 Shiraz? I had a look at the email and strongly suspect that it is 2014 McGuigan Personal Reserve Shiraz

Got the email too. I would be very surprised if it Is Tyrrell’s!
McGuigan sounds more realistic…

Yeah ... the broker email references a fourth generation producer which aligns with McGuigan's website. With Tyrells onto their fifth generation.

The attached JH 96 points review "This is a died in the wool classic from the '14 vintage. The grapes were picked at precisely the right time, resulting in great generosity, the mouthfeel is velvety yet fresh, the plum, blackberry and spice fruit a long way away from the savoury/earthy notes that will develop with age. At every point along the journey there will be pleasure." refers to 2014 McGuigan Personal Reserve Bainton Shiraz doing some Google search.

10/10 vintage rating - Halliday Wine Companion

$100 down to $29.90 /btl in a 6-pack

This 4th generation producer is one of the region's (and Australia's) biggest names, and luckily had a small amount of stock of this beautiful drop left. We tried it a few months ago in the office and it was singing, but had a great life of cellaring ahead. All the classics here - ripe dark fruits that are just starting to show a tertiary edge, a touch of leather and earth, excellent texture and cocoa-fine tannins make for perfect drinking now, or cellaring for the next 15+ years.

The review is for:

McGuigan Wines Personal Reserve Bainton Vineyard Hunter Valley Shiraz 2014

Has anyone tried it before? I like Hunter wines but have never had anything from them.
Not this wine but I had/have the 2012 McGuigan Philosophy which was $150 down to $40/bottle and nothing special in my opinion.

Indeed. However it was very odd seeing MP OP&OH being sold by JD last year. It seems like anything is possible in this market.
Oops, my bad. What made me think of tyrell’s is a secret deal from a few years back where I bought the Vat 8 for $29/bt - from cracka wines! Oh well…

Yeah same as so many of these wines. Stupid RPP but they are solid buying at these discounted prices. The whole sector is becoming a bit silly to be honest. Kind of think an ACCC intervention is required at times, especially with the made up brands and labels backed by a review from you know who that reads like its been written by a chatbot.

A few years ago? If it was the same deal I got (2010 vat 8 for $22 a bottle) that was in 2014!
