Relax in the American Express Lounge before your flight.

Sounds good, so T1 is the international terminal is it and airside???

Be nice if it had some really good dining options for those of us who can't get into the FLounge...

Yes - T1 = Sydney International terminal, airside next to Gate 24.

I wouldn't hold my hopes too high re: dining options, the lounge is operated by Premium Plaza so if you have been to a Premium Plaza lounge before you'll know it's OK but it's not up to the Qantas Business lounge standard at T1, let alone the F lounge...

Excellent news.
Gives me an option in late December before my D7 flight

Gate 24 huh?

I wonder if that's the old qf business/first lounge area ...

So 2 free entries for ANZ Black Cards per year.... annoying but better than nothing.

Sounds good if flying on a carrier without lounge access. I may sneak a peak mid January.

Fab news, will be a great alternative to the Koru Club :)
Which one is Koru Club? The lounge VS used to use? If that is the case that is not a bad lounge.

Clause 2 (b) states
All other eligible cards are entitled to two (2) entries into The American Express Lounge per calendar year (1st January to 31st December) for each American Express Card account. The entries may be used by the basic Card Member, Supplementary Card Member or a guest travelling with a Card Member. Card Members wishing to bring additional guests will be subject to a charge that is to be processed on the Card Member’s American Express Card. Please refer to the reception desk at the American Express Lounge for the applicable charge

Do others think this clause means if I take a guest in then I have used up my 2 yearly visits, or am I allowed 2 visits a year bringing in a guest?

Hard to tell - I think the wording is confusing. Also I don't think it's clear what they mean for "American Express Card account"... e.g. if my wife is a supplementary card member and she visits the lounge twice, does it mean I won't be able to use the free entries if I show up using my (basic) card? Or in other words, would 2 cards (basic + supplementary) give you 2 x 2 = 4 entries or else?

Should be able to clarify with AMEX once the lounge opening is officially announced...

Wow. This is great news but there's surprisingly little press coverage for this lounge, given its imminent opening.

I suspect they will have an official opening, invite media, give out press photos, and then you will get some press.

We have ANZ Platinum cards and they are black colour does that count?.

Koru Club = Air New Zealand lounge
Apologies I do realise it's the Air New Zealand lounge. Not sure exactly where it's located.

If it's the lounge that VS used to use and also used by Velocity Gold and Platinum members then I don't understand the criticism. The lounge is spacious and has a decent variety of food and beverages.
