To resurrect an old thread....I can access the QF J lounge using QF SG. Would you go with this lounge or the J lounge. I've generally been underwhelmed by the J lounge so considering giving this one a whirl.

Amex lounge is a lot smaller than the QF lounge, and personally I prefer the Amex lounge, but if I was in a group/family I'd aim for QF.

Travelling solo this time so might try the Amex lounge for something a bit different. Will be late morning so hopefully not too busy and size won't be too much of an issue.

Heard they had Hendricks gin which is quite appealing... ðŸ

I last tried getting into the AMEX lounge before QF81 (1115am departure) and was told the AMEX lounge was packed, so they were sending us to the Skyteam lounge next door (which I believe is run by the same group). The Skyteam lounge itself was a bit underwhelming, but still better than the QF J lounge IMO.

Hopefully you have more luck than I did getting into the AMEX lounge. Either way it's a better option than QF J!

Last year I went to checkout the Amex lounge. Decided to move on to the QF J lounge. You can always move on if you find its not to your liking.

If one doesn't have access to other lounges then Amex lounge is the only option. The service is good.
I've gotten around 'the lounge is full' advice by saying I prefer to stand.

Thought I'd report back. Amex lounge was packed when I arrived around 10am. Barely able to find a seat. Was a lot more pleasant by about 11:30 when a few A380 flights had left and I moved to one of the window seats for plane spotting opportunities.

I wasn't looking for much from this visit. Solid coffee and some fast Wi-Fi with good views hit the mark for me. They had some tasty garlic bread out as well.

I guess I'll get to try this lounge on 17th March as we can no longer access the F lounge (:().

My limited experience of the QF J lounge is that it is adequate but that's all. --- Maybe I'm spoilt :!:

We tried it in December (mainly because I wanted to maintain my record of never having been to the SYD J lounge) and it's certainly decent, but it was very crowded and finding a seat was difficult.

That was my experience too. In the end moved to the QF J lounge. I think they are about on par or maybe the QF J lounge slightly better.

I checked out the Syd Qf J lounge in Nov....it is not too bad albeit a bit crowded. I think it is slightly better than the Amex lounge, and certainly has more room!

I will be going through Sydney a couple of times over the next Month or Two, will be interesting to Try the Amex Lounge VS Qantas Lounge.................................
