My question is simple, but I suspect the answer is not.

Based on my on experiences and the many comments in other threads in the VA forum, we all know that the food in the Virgin Lounges is pretty ordinary and rarely changes.

Can we expect to see some improvement in the quality and variety of food in the VA lounges?

i agree .... I am so tired of seeing the same bread, cheeses, meats and salads! Hot Dogs leave me cold ....the soup is usuall pretty good

I agree with you. It's still the same as before and there's nothing change and new everytime when I visited the Virgin Lounge. :(

I remember when i was at Sydney, we had rice with curry and cheese cracker. Rice with curry is very yummy!

Totally agree. Have seen hardly any difference in either Mel or Syd lounges for 18 months at least.
The new section of the SYD lounge upstairs is a disappointment. At around 3pm usually...some tired bread, soup, and cheese. I do not see the fascination with soup.

Last time I was in the AKL Koru Club they had a butter chicken and rice which was delicious. There was a big queue waiting for it and it didn't take long before staff had to bring more,
A similar mild curry would be a real winner

Personally I think it's great that there is a gluten free option, but I'm getting a bit sick of corn thins... I do love the Madame Flavour teas though :)

Totally agree with all points.

They might not be pretty, but even 'gourmet' sausage rolls/spring rolls with sauce would be very welcome. The soup and cold meats/salads/stale bread doesn't cut it.

More craft/independent beer in some of the bigger lounges would also be welcome as well.

Was at Auckland Koru Club tonight and they had the butter chicken and rice. It was delicious and everyone seemed to enjoy it, just as Major mentioned. That is the type of food I would like Virgin Lounges to stock.

We hear you on this, and can tell you that we have in the works, a new menu plus concepts that will be rolled out in the Brisbane Lounge for the month of May.
Obviously the feedback we receive will help determine how it would/could be rolled out to our Lounge network.
More information over the next few weeks!

I'll be looking forward to trying the new menu :).

Velocity Frequent Flyer - are you bringing back the biscotti and pistachio nougat to enjoy with my coffee?
The little biscuits which you have now just don't cut it!

Just do it. Almost anything would be preferable to what we have now. Doesn't have to be super fancy or fiddly or have some cook's name on it. Just quality food including solid hot options that rotates once a month. After a cough day in Sydney - when I hit the lounge at 5pm I just want a plate of something with hot real meat, some simple vegetables/rice and maybe a bit of salad. By the time that sets we can concentrate on the final emails and whatnot then nod off on the flight home. Seriously, Red Rooster looks good at the moment.

I think this is a point most people make. Having LM has not meant restaurant quality offerings, in fact at times it hasn't even meant edible offerings, so I'm with the others who have suggested over many different threads that it'd be preferable for VA to ditch the celeb name and spend the money on a tasty offering instead.

Win!, Brisbane is my home airport.. This will be very welcome change..

Yes, as others have said, save your money on paying big name chefs and use it to make simply good fresh food!

The sandwich toaster has gone missing from the Perth lounge - it makes the remaining offerings feel very limited.
