Also apparently London in Business Class for $3750 with VA though no examples have been posted.

OMG that RTW J fare is so damn cheap - unfortunately we cannot fit it in - during that window I have 2 x EU and 1 x US trips scheduled - please powers that be reproduce it later in year?

I can offer a RTW for $3200ish depending on departure city.

Here's an example I'm looking at booking myself on.

1. VA 308 I 25SEP BNEMEL HK2 0655 0920 O* E MO 1
2. VA 87 I 25SEP MELHKG HK2 1025 1805 O* E MO 1
OPERATED BY VIRGIN AUST FOR VIRGIN
3. VS 207 Z 28SEP HKGLHR HK2 2355 #0530 O* E TH
4. VS 23 Z 04OCT LHRLAX HK2 1540 1850 O* E WE
5. VA 6 I 21OCT LAXBNE HK2 1115 #1815 O* E SA
OPERATED BY VIRGIN AUST INTL

If you look for AU-LAX-LHR-LAX-AU, there's fewer taxes and the price can go below $3100.

You'll need to depart from July until 26 September this year. If anyone's interested, feel free to drop me a PM with your contact details and travel plans and I can pull something together.

I have spoken to Caitlyn this morn - I just cannot fit a trip in during this Jul 5 to Sep 25 window - but they do have a similar special running Jan / Feb albeit $4999 - will look at that tonight.

As mentioned up post, FrightCentre now have it from $3,095. It's getting cheaper by the hour! Personally, I would avoid anything from 'Points from the Pacific' and any of the other bloggers that copy/paste original and exclusive articles from worthwhile travel websites (eg. AusBT and Pointhacks) without the appropriate referral or hat tip.

I agree. Just goes to show that airfares like this result in folks like us booking an RTW instead of, for instance, more direct PER-LHR-PER routes (which are considerably less adventurous).

Not so long ago, I'd have said that $2000 was a decent Y fare to LHR. Nowadays, it seems more like $1000 for a direct route to LHR on the el cheapo or $3000+ for a J RTW – what the heck, dare I say lol?

Simon D how much would one be looking at just LHR and back via the promotion?

Agreed. Though in this case neither AusBT nor Pointhacks has posted this deal.

Without a stopover, it's $3079 from BNE. BNE LAX with VA, LAX LHR with VS, 24 Jul 2017 - 26 Sep 2017

SYD is $3085 and MEL is $3075

Pretty limited availability with VS at the moment, took me a while to find dates within this time. From the looks of it, you as long as you depart by 26 Sep, you can return later.

Simon D, are one way tickets to the same destinations also included in the deal?

Yes, but not quite half. $1880ish depending on departure city.

I assume this one is not available in January like the other is?

I just booked the J deal but apparently seats are becoming extremely limited so the cheaper option was not available but still very happy:
BNE-MEL-HKG-LHR-LAX-MEL
My dates were flexible which helped and we depart on 7 September.
$3419

I seem to recall more than the odd post on here suggesting Australian Business Traveller has copied ideas from AFF.

Hi Simon,
What price would you quote for SYD-LA-LHR-LA-SYD in Business?
Dates are flexible. July or August.

Thanks in advance.
