Friends have discovered "certain" *UP fares that come and go over the years in the LOFTAP and the Caribbean. Had a gem for a few years , but that got enhanced. Oh, the quest to stay Emerald with a certain carrier that continually removes the benefits of being so.

Had a jaunt in March that was quite fun. So Just You might go to Sin City for a lark. You can reverse maybe. Tis great fun to have 8 legs. One ticket is more than half way to a new Emerald. Rinse, repeat. But of course you still need 4 Mr Squiggles for the card and package.

Detail 1. I don't have enough posts to reply to pm's.
Detail 2. Included 2D on the 3 class transcon. and 5A on a 777 (int 1st class) on a positioning flight for a wide body en-route to Brazil.
Detail 3. $1k for 720sc.

Happy travels. John.
Bring back Jasa's!

Please get enough posts for the PM's ;)
I love solving a riddle, especially for a very tidy SC earn.
Now frantically working out my next trip to LOTFAP to include a side-trip to Sin City !!

I thought 10 posts was the magic number for replying to PM’s?

Your riddle sounds intriguing, in fact, it would get me WP this year should I solve it.

I do know what you mean here though: :)

But of course you still need 4 Mr Squiggles for the card and package.

tease....;). I suggest plying John with copious amounts of alcohol at Ozfest so he spills the beans!

Hmmm Sin City? I wonder where that is and if it is the origination or the destination.

traveL on thAt type of Schedule can be interesting, no?

While we're being cryptic, I dug the first island in coughtail before getting to Kokomo for 630 SC's @ US1100 in January. (Sadly, now $150 more)

With the reference to reversing it I would say it could be both origin and destination. Isn't sin city a name for a place ala the windy city?

I know A and Z, except everything in between.

Best I can find is 540 SC for $900 ... so close yet so far!

must say I am not sure on point Z (assuming I have point A correct)...

**So the riddle comes in at $1.38/SC**

Best I can get at the moment is $1.56/sc.... damn, back to the drawing board

Chicago?? the only sin city I know of in the LOTFAP is Vegas! Suggest you try LAS as origin and destination ;)

Plus, with ORD being an AA hub they're unlikely to offer big 'UP' fares cheaply that originate there.

Can we (I) get another hint on the to point....

I toght so too ...

But I can't see a YUP type fare to/from Sth America and LAS under $2K.

There are good reasons why the full detail may not be revealed, if only then via PM.

Then again, JohnSydney2000 you are a tease :p ... potential agitation on the board may have warranted not mentioning anything in the first place!

All in all, it's an excellent rate, although for status runners it should be noted that if you are getting $2.50/SC or less (all inclusive of conversion fees) then you are doing quite well. If you do that well including positioning flights then that is probably close to excellent.

In saying that, whoever got $1.56 instead of the suggested $1.38 is still doing very, very well. Clearly shows that first class fares in the US may be waning, but they certainly aren't completely out for the count.

I think I'm close to cracking it.

a wide body en-route to Brazil.

This last clue must be hinting at 1191?

It's a 738 (widebody) originating at John's Fried Ketchup, stopping at Steve's Japanese Udon with a final destination of Craig's Cheese Sauce.

Edit: (Actually, maybe I'm not that close)

No a 738 is narrow body. It only has one aisle...
