Rockfords discussion

Re: Titanic Tour of the Barossa [April 12, 2015 - Wine tour by Buzz]

Eeek, I might be in trouble now - got a letter from Rockford this morning saying I'm on the mailing list and I have a membership code, plus giving me another order form :o
It's a slippery slope.

Have spoken to Lindi and she remembered our group and in particular Buzzard. Looks like it'll be a regular order

I've been having a few chats with Lindi the last couple of days, planning something for next year, something special for later this year and a visit with another Stonewaller later this month.

Poor girl will need therapy by the time I finish.

At least you're keeping her in a job :D

Please pass on my best wishes to you know who :)

Re: Epiqure latest offering

I would love to buy some of the black Shiraz - and the BP I guess but I have to visit the cellar door to be able to.
You should be able to order and have it sent. Just call them.

Epiqure latest offering

How does one do this?

I'm not entirely sure. However, I have recently been fortunate enough to be placed on their mailing list. An achievement in itself. As best I understand remaining on the mailing list, or even ascending to the ranks of a full member requires a consistent record of commitment. In this case, i think a trip to the cellar door, with my number, is in order.

There's the trick. Only full members can guarantee access to those wines. Everyone else has to hope it's available at the cellar door. (Except DMs does have black Shiraz on their website. And basket press is fairly common in restaurants). I'll visit this week, I think.

Not really. Managed to get some at the cellar door earlier this year. But only after members had first go at their allocation and then limited to 3 bottles of black Shiraz.

Yes, but the current vintage is now available to everyone. I had no trouble buying the Black Shiraz in January but had to wait till April to get the BP. So Steady should be able to call and order current vintage now with no issues.

January is when I purchase the black Shiraz as well, at a limit of 3 bottles per customer. It will be good if they're still available. Edit: actually it's still on the current tasting sheet available on the website. Must be available.

Looks like I'm going there tomorrow for sure.

I had done this (called) and I am on the mailing list (as medhead mentions above, an achievement), but they don't allow phone orders on the BS and BP - they recommended I try and find someone who could visit the cellar door and buy it for me and then they will ship it directly to me.
(That someone can not have already purchase their own allocation....)

If I go on the Titanic II tour (as I am trying to find a way of doing) I could visit the cellar door the day before, but they advised both will be sold out well before November.

I need to try some of their other wines like the Frugal Farmer to ensure that I like them before ordering a dozen.

Going to be around Sydney any time?

Re: Epiqure latest offering

If you, or any of your group have some allocation left over that you are not going to use....

As best I understand it, the allocation for us mere mortals is 3 bottles at the cellar door per customer per visit. I'll get my full 3 bottles, I'll probably also pick up a heap of Frugal Farmer. I like it, and down to only 1 bottle.

A new thread dedicated to one winery? That's dangerous :p

Must keep an eye on my inbox for PM's before I return Saturday week. Not sure however how much more they will let me purchase as I have already taken much more than would normally be allowed.
