Eeek, I might be in trouble now - got a letter from Rockford this morning saying I'm on the mailing list and I have a membership code, plus giving me another order form :o

I received my letter/order form earlier this week. Can't say I was attracted to their offerings.

If you are not attracted to White Frontignac, or the Rod & Spur, or the Rifle Range, or the Alicante Bouchet, or the Local Growers, or the Eden Valley (including the 2006 Museum release), why do you bother with being on their mailing list? Not just the Basket Case, surely?

Basket Press only for me from this place. Been disappointed far too frequently with their lesser range of wines.

The Rod and Spur is a fantastic wine too. As good as the Basket Press in some vintages I think.

Hi all - new to this thread and saw Buzzard's advice on dates of availability of BP and Black Shiraz. Just to add a little, my understanding is that there are two mailouts per year - May and October. The October mailout has two slightly different versions. The normal list and then the Stonewaller one which has everything in the normal list plus the BP and BS (max 6 of each per Stonewaller). Once the winery considers the Stonewallers have had sufficient time to get their orders in then the BP and BS is made available at the cellar door (max 3 each). This may vary between BP and BS but usually happens by March and then generally sold out by end May. I think it is then only available from the winery - not mailorder. The May mailout is the same for the normal and Stonewaller crews (whatever the current vintages of wines in stock are and no BP or BS). There are a few special wines that are available to Stonewallers only from the winery (not via mailorder) such as the SVS Hoffman and Flaxman single vineyard Shiraz(es).

Hope this is helpful (and correct). I love the BP and BS - but also reckon the Moppa Springs is one of the most drinkable wines around and the Alicante just great summer drinking. Getting thirsty just thinking about it - best go and find a bottle of something.

From my knowledge that is how it works
