I am losing the plot. OK, some on AFF may think I have already lost the plot.

I am travelling OOL-SYD-MEL today and I was going to leave work at ~1:30pm and try to get to OOL airport at ~4:30pm. Then I had problem with my tooth and I had to visit dentist today and I thought why get to OOL airport so early for a 7:05pm flight. So I left work at 2:00pm with a plan to be at OOL airport at ~5:30pm. So far so good.

Train was a little late and then waiting for the bus at Varsity Lakes and I thought all OK. Then at ~5:07pm I receive SMS that my flight VA540 has been delayed and will now depart at 6:56pm and arrive in SYD at 8:26pm. Immediately I thought "Oh no, not again". Something is not quite right though but it hasn't clicked yet.

I arrived at OOL airport a little late at ~5:50pm and notice the 7:05pm flight is on time but VA540 is delayed from 6:05pm -> 6:40pm. Hmmm.

I totally screwed up my flight times. That does not happen very often at all with my impeccable storage and retrieval system. Luckily the delay saved me otherwise I would have been a dead duck....

I should hsave added that I ran the itineraries past my fiance and her preference is for 1 and 2 with 3 and 4 silly choices. :shock: Something about wanting to spend more time with me and seeing me earlier and if I was tired to relax in CNX.

I tried to tell her that flying and airports was my hobby to which she replied 'When we get married we can live near airport' so you see aircraft everyday. :shock: I think something was lost in translation. :mrgreen:

This time but has more than made up for it in other ways. The JohnK curse follows me everywhere and I have no idea what is in store next. It likes to challenge my sanity.

So I am in hotel in Melbourne and trying to use my mobile

- I want to call home but I cannot as I have insufficient credit
- I tried sending my brother an sms and I cannot as I have insufficient credit

Now that would be fine if I had a prepaid account! Check my account online and there does not appear to be any issues. Tried call the Virgin service number and I cannot as I have insufficient credit. :shock:

Easy with the marriage. Let's get through the engagement next month first and then comment on marriage. Only 1 person on AFF knows although 2 (and a +1) AFFers have met her. There have been plenty of cryptic clues in recent times including my mention of a +1 for the lounge crawl in June.

You will meet her if you go to the HKG Do in November or the SIN Do in January 2015.

Have you tried pulling the battery out and then putting back in and turning on / trying again? I know it sounds stupid ... but a colleague of mine had a very strange issue with her phone a few days ago, turning on/off didn't work .. but discharging did

Thanks Flash. I have tried everything including pulling battery out and restating.

Customer service is the one that gets me. How can you not be able to call customer service?

Sounds like a network issue... or SIM card losing its settings!

Maybe take the SIM out, boot up, then insert the SIM and select the provider again?
