Aren't colonoscopies wonderful.:(

A real PITA actually. And no I don't want to see the photos, I expect you to go through the motions and tell me if anything needs further review or to come back in 2-3 years for another humiliating experience.

I wonder if I were in the same position if I could take a taxi and claim it back on tax.

If subjected to an audit, then I would claim it was necessary on the grounds of safety.

I don't want to foreshadow a "it has happened" response, but suffice to say it would take a single fatality from one tired doctor......

A certain (mining) company I used to work for would happily fund a taxi home if we were in the office till late at night for safety reasons.

If it was here in the Hunter Valley Vineyards - no problem. (organisation is my middle name, and I was the marketing co-ordinator for Hunter Valley Wine Country Tourism, so I know some locations.)

I have not been to Adelaide since I was four and that was a looooooooooooong time ago. Hence the question - any suggestions - including wineries.
Now if Buzzard wants to organise the bash, I would attend. - Saturday 17th January 2015

....except that it may clash with something else I have in the wind.

I do suggest however that you Google Casablabla for Saturday night - you will not regret it IMHO. A booking may be essential to ensure a table.

LATE BREAKING NEWS:

I will organise Casblabla as an AFF get together for Saturday January 17.

Arrive back in ADL this weekend so will start a new thread for the event then. With Mrs B and I that makes it what, 7 so far with the Bindibuys clan?

Good people how many countries around the world - if any - do not use 24hr clock for scheduling flight times? And if any that you are aware of which are they please?

Or is this more an airline specific situation?

I should add that I ask this cause I was sitting in a bar in Beijing coupla nights back watching AFL footy - got talking to a Yank next to me and asked him when you leave Beijing?

His answer was 'Tomorrow some time but I don't really know the time - its says on ticket 16:45 but I don't know what that means'.

4:45pm I said - 'So why don't they print that on booking form'? he asks.

OMG - is this standard in USA?

Ah. This was a bit bigger than a colonoscopy. And I do have photos! Good heavens I can't even look at them.

A necessary evil?

Which reminds me I'm probably ~5-6 years overdue for follow-up. :( I am not going to go through the preparation on my own.
Any male over 50 who does not regularly consult their GPs re colonoscopies should be certified.

Absolutely nothing to it - don't be such sooks.

It's USA folk. They don't understand why other countries don't like USD to pay for purchases. It's good money right?

I'm not sure if it's naivety, ignorance or arrogance.

Are you thinking prostate or colonoscopy. Women need the latter too.
Colonoscopy - had 4 over last 5 yrs - last visit specialist said all clear come back in 2yrs - absolutely nothing to it - haven't reqd prostate check over that period as they check whilst you sedated for colonoscopy - clever people these doctor folk!

So its only Yanks - like 09:15 = 9:15am / 21:25 = 9:25pm? On ALL USA airlines?

Ok. But it isn't just men who need that checked.

Totally understand - but it's not only men who need to be so protective of their precious health either. You only get one crack at the 'life' caper - best you do all possible to prolong it - IMHO of course.

Studies suggest a person who has no sleep for 24hrs is equivalent in alertness to someone with a BAC of ~0.05.

If possible, please have someone else drive you.

By the time you posted that, I was trying to sleep, with wires flowing from my head... isn't a BAC of 0.05 legal anyway, or rather, the limit?

As I expected, was tired when I sat down and just wanted to sleep, but after the flashing lights and hyperventilation test I found it very hard to get to sleep. I'm not sure what data they got from me. It always seems too short a test to me, I know it'd cost far more but surely there'd be more useful data from a full night of sleep, or at least several hours, than the half hour I get.

Felt a little worn out this afternoon, but still going now, and will sleep soundly tonight I reckon.

Have you tried? I know Princess Alexandra hospital is not near you but they appear to have a clinic for everything. Waiting time to get in could be messy but I persevere and ask for referrals. Eye tests, pain management, etc.

Admittedly not, when I first had troubles last year it was a near 6-month wait just to be seen by a private specialist. Though, when I mentioned there might be an issue, they fit me in really quickly... not that I want to visit too often, $175 per 5-minute consultation is a little annoying.

I only just turned 50! Still a baby. ;)

Colonoscopy doesn't bother me. Need to schedule one when I am back in Sydney butotoo difficult to plan in advance especially those clinics that only do Colonoscopies on a Thursday.

That reminds me. I have recently received a letter from Bowel screen? Do they do the same thing.

Yes, it seems like a very much USA thing. I think I've been to many airports around the world and only in the USA is the 12-hr time system much more preferable over the 24-hr (military) time system.

They also seem to tend to drop leading zeroes a lot too, so 1945h is often written on a BP as "745P".

I would not laugh, but apparently it can be quite difficult at times to keep in mind the whole "add / subtract 12" thing for working with 24-hr time, particularly for those who don't use maths on a regular basis.

Sounds good, would only count on 5 from my clan for now - hubby, son + partner, and daughter
(would have to show the other 2 the web site to see if they would be interested. My family just does what they are told  )
