Just remembered another one, women I worked with named her son Z (surname) that's it, just the letter Z as his first name. He must be about 10 now.

Some parents are a little cruel.when in Maitland there was a family of carpet layers-grandfather,father and son. They were the Wall family so son was Walter-just say the full name a little fast.
Then moving to QLD the Pipe family called their son Dwayne.
I also met a delightful 90+ women whose name was Atracta.I said what an unusual name for the early 1900s.She told me she changed the spelling of her name.Father was a grazier.her brother was Plough.

Plumbers??

As a Fremantle Dockers supporter we need Collingwood to win....even though there are so many non Collingwood supporters out there.

I tipped Collingwood. ;) Shame West Coast won otherwise I would have had my first perfect round this year.

I see Canberra is expected to reach(?) -5 overnight

My outdoor thermometer indicated that the temp had reached -8 but it is located on a very exposed south facing wall on the side of a hill
in south CBR. Surprisingly there was very little frost - must have been a bit of breeze.

Tonight's low will be interesting too.

I had an excellent catch up with a few AFFers on Sunday night, check FB, or maybe the Hilton thread.

Another AFFer is visiting Perth this week although I can't remember his username, although I think our catch up will be last minute due to their schedule, so not really enough notice to start a thread.

Also great to pick up little tricks or hints that won't appear online, we can't be giving away all our secrets.

I had a shocker round, usually you need to go with form but need to pick one outsider game; to get close to picking, so I picked the Gold Coast and not Brisbane, no one picked West Coast so you don't really lose a position when an outside wins.

I picked 7/9 - those Adelaide teams let me down. But I am climbing the ladder in all my tipping comps at the moment as the leaders try and pick upsets??

Qantas Golf - this could make our AFF Golf Days even more worthwhile :D

And for those who been barred from Facebook?

I don't know of anyone who was barred from Facebook, maybe at work can be a problem, some people choose not to use Facebook and that is different.

It can be hard to organize a catch up so you rely on different contact methods, email; PM, text message, Facebook, twitter, some people have very changing work schedules, and well you don't always here back from some people.

Why is it the people who are getting things for free are the most pushy and demanding?

Don't bother that I spent Sunday arvo doing your thing urgently for Monday morning. Just put the whole lot on hold (why did I rush again?) when it becomes apparent an independent assessment is required and demand that I arrange that second assessment. Sounds independent to me.

In other news being barred from Facebook fiefdoms can be extremely liberating. Gives me time to do assessments on Sunday arvo. ;)

Edit: argh it gets better 4 reports and 3 difference answers. All because of poor classification of information.

The start of World War 1 for Australia was 100 years ago today 4 August 1914, when Britain declared war on Germany.
World war one actually started on the 28 July 1914.

The immediate trigger for war was the 28 June 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, by Yugoslav nationalist Gavrilo Princip in Sarajevo. This set off a diplomatic crisis when Austria-Hungary delivered an ultimatum to the Kingdom of Serbia,[SUP][10][/SUP][SUP][11][/SUP] and international alliances formed over the previous decades were invoked. Within weeks, the major powers were at war and the conflict soon spread around the world.

more from wiki,

Make sure no one important gets assassinated in your country.

<snip>

Because they don't value what they haven't paid for and think it is their right to demand rather than getting a return for the consideration (i.e. paid or points etc) they have paid for your time/effort.

lol
Funnily enough the other two freebies on Sunday were very thankful. ;)

Agree totally, however WIN's reporting of the celebration (commemoration) of the centenary at today's event in CBR, was that Britain declared war on Germany, which to anyone without any knowledge of the causes of WW1, conveys the impression that Britain was the perpetrator of WW1.
