Very sad. Wouldn't be many people around who hadn't nearly wet themselves laughing at his comedy - especially his 80s stand-up routines.

It is sad if it is true that Robin Williams has died from effects from depression. Depression can effect all of us at different times in our lives and some of us come out of it quicker than others, maybe some people think of depression is something they have to work through themselves, I get the idea that maybe it needs to be treated like you would treat a broken bone or you have a cold or a flu and you go and see a doctor about it.
What ever the outcome the world has lost one of the funniest actors around.

I have a friend that suffers from depression. It is so hard to reconcile in my own thoughts that he can't "just be happy". In the same way that it's difficult to reconcile the idea of Robin Williams' as selfish person to his family, with the fact that he couldn't "just be happy". Hopefully his wife and children don't blame themselves.

And Costco gets go ahead for 3rd MEL outlet to be situated on Moorabbin Airport - that's like 5mins from home - that will make for easy access to snap up the champers specials when they offer them.

D'oh! I'd missed the first result for Black Dog institute. The rest of the results are almost irrelevant.

Most of the links on the first page of my google search link depression with black dog. In fact there was only one link that didn't mention depression, dog collars and leads by blackdog.

Ahh, that'll be handy, especially if I still have to do work shopping in the future. And yes, they do some good champagne deals.

I went over to Docklands Sunday - nothing there at all of note - staff said the Mumm gift packs won't be back in til XMAS.

LOL! I use Internet Explorer. Yes I know there are much better internet browsers around.

Type in "Damn the black dog" in Google and there is an obscure link at the bottom of the list for Black Dog Institute which I only noticed now.

Depression is quite sad and mainly misunderstood.

Robin Williams died from asphyxia probably suicide may he rest in peace!

He was battling severe depression

All this is such a shock

So sad

Those of us of a certain vintage will recall not heading out to the pub until after Mork and Mindy was over on a Thursday night each week.

Mork and Exidor .... priceless.

Just got this picture of the denver broncos cheerleaders from 1980

LOL! I use Internet Explorer.

And? So do I.

Last I checked the browser doesn't change the google search results. Now searching "damn the black dog" gives the first 2 results mentioning depression, the 3rd one is JessicaTam's post and the rest of the results are mixed.

Of course, I searched Black Dog, since I know what damn means ;)

I have never understood depression. Sometimes I look at people I know who are suffering with depression and I can understand why, at other times I think what have you got to be depressed by? They have a good job, a great income, nice home and family etc Come and spend a week with me and I'll give you something to be depressed by.

A terrible disease without a cure.

Maybe the ones closest to him will be able to understand his actions.

It is the people outside that worry me the most. Totally ignorant and only ever think of themselves.

I have lost track of the number of times I have heard "Smile" from people in office walking past. Why? To make you happy? They are so absorbed in their own useless existence they don't care about anyone else. Not one has bothered to find out why there is no smile.

Another beauty the other day. I got up from my desk to go to lunch room for a stretch. Huge grimace as I am walking. Young lass walking past makes a snide remark "Why the grimace?. I responded with "Because I am in extreme pain!". She just kept walking.

People can be so cruel. The less I have to deal with them the better off I am.
