Yeah. You can do a fair bit with them, but nothing beats a full screen IMHO. Not a huge fan of tablets either TBH.

Funny you mention not being a huge fan of tablets. Reminds me when I signed up for a new prepaid SIM at Swisscom store. They assigned a lovely young lady to help me with it - she just managed to speak enough English so I could converse and understand. When it came to filling in the details etc to register my SIM, she had her iPad out and was trying to fill the form, but obviously they didn't quite optimise the registration web form to suit tablets and the fields, which naturally you tap one at a time to fill in, were rather small. It didn't help much that the fine lady's long nails - albeit painted a lovely shade of scarlet - were inhibiting her being able to accurately tap the sometimes rather unresponsive screen.....

We did get there in the end!

Finally reaching another island after skirting the typhoon. But another has formed which will probably impact us in 3-4 days time.

I was hoping for a Hawks win. Although I'm a fan of Buddy. He had a great smile when the Hawks captain gave him a cheeky kiss in the middle of the game.

And yes I'm sure the Hawks fans loved every minute.

I put $10 on (hey big spender!) Does that count? Can't complain....

Well done, that's a bit above my average bet, although I had a free bet of $50 I put on the hawks at $2.70, then doubled the winnings to meet the turnover requirements by placing it all on a place bet on the gee gees.

I am looking for new camera, would you recommend it? (all my other cameras have been Sony)

Yes but a little logic wouldn't go astray. Would it?

So many bankrupts also use that plea.

Right in theory broke in practice! OR looking at it another way being right too early is indistinguishable from being wrong.

For example people calling market peaks years too early. One salient example was Spalvins and Adsteam in 1985 called a market crash, shorted the market until October 1986 - cut his short position for a loss of over $125m (and that was the beginning of his end).

Certain airline calling the top of their home currency and altered FX policies - very costly.

Hoping for regular displays of logic in single human decisions nearly as good as odds on winning Lotto!

Have had a great afternoon with Straitman, Sue Oz, jaksmum and wrlv - with surprise guest JessicaTam

Views like this for dinner:

Now for dessert at straitmans' house:

with the bottle of wine that JessicaTam has supplied.

Might be a late night :D ;)

Actually, there may be some consternation at straitmans house tonight. There will be one returning guest and a family.

We're both Diamonds at Hilton but that means nought tonight.

I hope you have an enjoyable stay and dinner QF WP (and straitman), families and others.

Not a Hawks fan by any stretch of the imagination, but it's always good to see the swans get beaten, they have been given far too much of a free ride by the afl for far too long.

Surely the "cost of living allowance" has no relevance today. If the swans could afford to buy "buddy", they clearly have no need to be subsidised by the other teams.

ducks for cover.....

That's a very long term marriage. Once the grief passes I'm sure the widow can think about all those years together. In that they've been truly blessed.

Sadly several of my friends have lost partners after just 25 years or so. And many of those have been in the last few months. It's been a rugged winter I think.
