Vietnam Airlines booking problem

I've tried to book a VN domestic sector. The booking engine came back with a "payment problem" (28 degrees MasterCard) however it issued a reservation number with a note about "pay later booking".

VN in australia are closed until Monday so I can't really get in touch with them until then.

Is the booking likely to just cancel itself? Has anyone had issues booking VN tickets online with Australian cards before? I was able to book a Cambodia Angkor Air ticket right afterwards with the same card and it worked right away (looked like the same booking system too).

Check your credit card activity. It may not update until next week though but it's a start. We've booked flights while in Vietnam using an Australian card without issue in 2013.

There are a couple of Vietnam Airlines sites... both with very similar addresses... but one is, and one is not, actually VN. The true VN site doesn't seem to have any problems with Aussie credit cards... friends purchased theirs last month without a hitch.

I've had trouble booking through VN's website, so you are not alone. Simply give their Facebook page a PM and they should get to you asap, its also good to mention, that Vietnamese travel agents tend to have access to the cheapest seats so I would contact them too if you wish.

Definitely check your bank statement before proceeding just incase they have charged you.

Thanks. I tried again today with another credit card and it worked ok. There didn't seem to be a new charge on my 28 degrees card and when I searched the reservation number it gave me online they said it had been cancelled so I guess it didn't go through.

I did try them on Facebook... However they told me they work in PR and can't help
