WOW that's awesome - I wonder if that's also going to be the case for Sofitel Sydney???

Probably not. Both Sydney and Melbourne clubs are quite small compared to Brisbane. Some stays I have been the only one there.

How many times can I like this.

I hope Syd and Mel follow suit. I would stay there then!!

Hooray! I just booked a room there for a stay in a couple of weeks time! Happy days!

I wouldn't turn my nose up at this (I'm not a Plat) - but I was at the Sofitel BNE Central last weekend in a Club room and found the Club underwhelming - very dated and somehow had a surfeit of (dare I say) bogan-esque types.

YMMV ( I hope).

Only one area, sorry; on the other side is the buffet and more seating. I'm not saying its awful, just dated.

Can someone advise what the breakfast is like in the lounge, as well as the food through the day and the evening canapés, plus times. I have need to be in Brisbane a bit coming up and am tossing up between the Sofitel (no status but changing soon) and the Hilton (where I have diamond status).

Thanks!

Hi Kermatu,
Will upload some photos & description after my stay next Tuesday.

Whilst you are waiting: Breakfast 0630-1000 (1030 Sunday. Evening canapas & drinks 1730-1930.

That sucks. Stayed there for two nights on the weekend, got upgraded to the club room but wasn't granted access to the lounge.

Sounds like I was just before the change. Story of my life.

But great news for the future anyway Subharpoon. Thanks for that.

I thought Club Room gave you access regardless of status? Isn't that the point of a club room??

Accorhotels.com still states access to the lounge is excluded for Sofitel MEL / SYD / BNE...

ACCESS TO EXECUTIVE LOUNGE
Upon request and subject to availability on arrival at the hotel, if existing (except Sofitel Melbourne, Sofitel Brisbane and Sydney).

Here's hope they will allow access to all 3 - would be good if somebody currently staying at Sofitel MEL / SYD could enquire about this...

Great news, wonder if this will be posted/communicated officially somewhere?
