Heard from a reliable source London to Perth non stop is being considered.

There is starting to be passenger push back with stopping in Dubai and of course QF set that fail up themselves.

Remember you read it on AFF first. :D

The numbers have been crunched.

Bypassing Dubai would be a bonus, but 18 hours in the air would be a hard road to travel even on a QF Dreamliner..

PER people struggle to make the short Asia hops work. Why would this route be a success?

All the confirmed QF 787 orders are set to replace a number of 747s. They'll be replacing 747s on HKG, HND, SFO, YVR, LAX and JFK before they start new routes.

Qantas launched ORD flights about 10 years ago only to cancel them at the last minute. That would be a big win if they launched flights there.

Having to connect in LHR to other British cities would make me consider if I'd prefer to break the trip in half as it is, or go for a 19hr flight?

I guess some people have more time than me :p I don't read all the threads, I had to wait until I lunched with someone who knew.

Matt

Won't be the first and won't be the last to miss a thread. So much info here impossible to keep track of ! But thought I would reference old thread as good discussion on the matter there too.

So itll be at least 5 years before they even think about new routes!
