KUL-SIN lounge crawl 9 June 2019

The location for the seventh Asian lounge crawl has been chosen - Or should I say locations.

A few years ago we did a double airport lounge run starting in KUL and ending in SIN. MH have renovated their lounges in the last 12 months so there is a bit of a change from last time.

Sunday will start in KUL for brunch followed by a mid afternoon flight to SIN before flying out that evening (to either AU or UK!)

For the uninitiated it is important that you book a flight on a One World carrier.

If you book a QF flight (QF metal and QF ticket) you can also include the SIN EK lounge in your 'crawl'.

To get from KUL-SIN I suggest one of the following MH flights to ensure KUL lounge access:

MH623 1325-1445
MH619 1425-1535

Kuala Lumpur – Details to be provided

Lounges – MH F, MH J, CX, and those requiring Priority Pass

Singapore -

Lounges – QF, BA, EK (if flying QF), and those requiring Priority Pass

Agenda:

When I get to KUL on Sunday I will head to the MH F lounge in the satellite terminal, followed by the J lounge and then CX lounge. As the flights to SIN are likely to leave from the regional terminal I will head there last.

As I am on the first 'main lounge crawl' flight into SIN I will head to the BA lounge which from memory opens at 3pm. The second wave are welcome to head there an hour later where I can hopefully manage a look around the Concorde Room. The P1s can then escort us to our special table in the QF lounge.

We can finish things off in the EK and sundry PP lounges. I would like to visit the site of the new QF F lounge in our travels, too.

Award seats open on both flights to MEL, at least. Funny thing, I kept getting a hung page when booking on Chrome, so I called QFF to see if they could make booking for me, and they said it had to be requested, both flights.

While on the phone, I switched to MS Edge and seats still available both flights, so I made the booking there and then. The Plat line lady in the meantime was putting a request in for me, and it also came through, while I was on the line. She cancelled that, quick smart.

Will wait for any 50% off award promotions as that will give chance for A380 from/to SYD otherwise the A380 has a high surcharge for revenue airfares.

Colour me almost Platinum. Oh, for those overnighting in KUL, we must go to Jalan Alor for dinner.

Also, worth noting that the last time I booked QF coded flight from Kul-Sin, MH denied me entry to their F lounge and directed me to CX lounge instead. Not sure if rules have changed recently (that was 1.5 years ago), maybe someone who’s taken similar flight would be able to shed some light on this?

@Aeolus my MH flight is booked through QF but on a MH flight no. rather than a QF codeshare so we will see what happens. If they do not let me in as a OWE I may have to be a guest of another WP on the same flight.
