Roomba, Dysons, Thermomix and other household appliances

New washing machine installed just now. Ordered just yesterday from appliances on line. I went bargain price one, just the two of us now so no need for full on heavy duty. Excellent price and paid extra for a delivery window. The installers were brilliant, they had to unscrew the U pipe to insert the waste pipe. Can highly recommend the business. We've used them a few times and have never had an issue. Old machine removed for scrap metal. It's only five years old and have water issues with it for a couple of years and it's so nice not to see water appearing underneath it.

I use them all the time, generslly a good company. Great for organising a replacement appliance in a rental interstate at way less than REA contractor will quote.

A couple things to watch for:
-They are not always the cheapest but you can get them to price match after shopping around
-Watchout for their warantee/replacement policies. If you get a lemon you need to report it quickly to get a replacement otherwise you will get time limited T&Cs thrown at you and have to deal with the manufacturers rep until they are convinced it is a lemon, only then will AO agree to replace.

The guy that came to repair my ducted aircon a couple of weeks ago said you couldn't reuse the ducting. I'm going to get a quote in a couple of weeks for a new one. At the moment my bedroom is at least 2 degrees warmer than the living area when I much prefer it be cooler. I also have to cool a large living area and hall at night to cool my bedroom which is just a waste.

We tossed up split systems in rooms v ducted but went for ducted in the new house but also have solar and batteries so fingers crossed.

Split can easily be added if its something we want to do later on

Branch/subsidiary of Winnings
great service
They deliver to Jindabyne FOC one day a week. And when they say 11am they mean 11am

which is just a waste
Agree,
suggest just a room AC for bedroom

"Zones" are just a Con. Zones just refer to the ability to isolate aircon output flow to certain areas. However the air that returns to the aircon comes from the return grill which is often in one place in the house meaning it sucks in air from everywhere.

For a room, any air from the ducted aircon that gets pumped in has to go somewhere. If the door is closed, its got nowhere to go and often goes outside.

Better to buy split systems for certain areas like bedrooms where the temp and timing can be individually set

So the reuse of ducting begs the question of replacing multi story air conditioning. Im betting there’s a way. As this runs through other people’s floors and ceilings.

We have had two max size x1Ph (fujitsu) air cons in our family room for more than 25 years.
When we did a reno to the bedroom wing we bought one new max1ph unit to replace one old stager so we could relocate the compressor to the roof.
My nsh opinion is that the remaining (noisy) old stager puts out as much cool as its flashy partner although we mostly use the new one because it is much quieter.
There is an old saying about physics is that if there are just so many amps to power something no amount of new clothes will change the output.
We also have a few mid size Fujitsu inverters in other areas and they have super reliable.
The new unit otoh.. has a humungous 1ph compressor to service five heads.. I reckon it has Buckleys due to the rule quoted above..

all well and good but it's a big outlay of money to do that which I'd rather use for travelling

5yrs is not long. Couple of years ago I got rid of our 30year old Kleenmaid which is a US Speed Queen machine. Bullet proof. I ordered new shaft/bowl seals from the US at one stage and would have done so again except my health was weighing on me at the time and the kids were no longer at home. I advertised the machine for free on marketplace and it went quickly. Horse owners like these machines as they are great fro washing saddle rugs etc. I replaced it with an 8kg F&P topload which have a good rep.

I cleaned the 4 split systems when we moved into the new home. The largest, in the sunroom, is over 20yrs (we have the purchase receipt) and still going. I have contemplated replacing with modern units and would look to have one compressor to supply 3 head units, and a separate system for the 4th which is remote to the others.
