This has probably been asked many times before (sorry mods)

I want to fly from CPT to Tokyo (ideally HND, but only NRT is showing up)

CPT-JNB-SIN is bookable on the website in J. I assume if I ring VA and ask them to book CPT-JNB-SIN-NRT that will reduce the number of FF points and hopefully the taxes.

What if its different classes. SQ 479 in J and SQ 12 in W? Any benefit to booking via phone rather than two bookings online?

Answers to my questions

* Always hang up and call back if you dont like the first call center person's answers. Second person was fantastic, even though the first person was friendly, but extremely unable to do anything
* You will save on the taxes (yay) but the computer can not give you a discount for mixed classes.
* You will get one PNR which means my bags are checked all the way through

If I see J open up, I will see how much it costs to upgrade. In theory it should only be another $60 and maybe even less points.
