My husband has some mobility problems. As we were catching Eurostar the next morning I booked this hotel for its location. However I loved it! Very eclectic in every way but comfortably so. Great bed. The restaurant is well regarded and mainly Israeli based which I enjoyed, A little noisy so next time I would book a room overlooking the courtyard.

I am not a huge fan of Pullmans but the Auckland property is one I would revisit, and has a lounge on the top floor that’s does not get crowded
I am assuming that you are referring to the Pullman Auckland Hotels & Apartments? If so, then yes, I would agree with your sentiment here (my review is here). It is a nice hotel to stay at. Location wise it's good, not as centrally located as the SO, but on the other hand a lot less street noise. Breakfast was good and it also has an executive lounge should you hold Platinum (or better) Accor status (or book a room with that benefit).

Just thought I'd ask: did your room have minibar service? When I stayed there back in 2023, they didn't have a minibar (on account of COVID) which was a bit of a let down as I was intending to raid the minibar as a Accor Platinum (you get unlimited soft drinks from the minibar at MGallery properties as a Platinum)

Unlimited as in you can have all the softdrink in your minibar but limited to the daily quota refilled by housekeeping, or can you call up for more?
I believe you can request housekeeping to come by and refill your fridge (I personally have not tried that as I have a dietary restriction which prevents me from excessive consumption of fizzy drinks). But I was joking with my partner about calling the front desk every hour to refill the minibar.

This was booked for wife’s birthday, which I informed the hotel a week before. Bottle of wine arrived later in the afternoon.
Asked for a 1pm check out and granted.
Really helpful staff. Room was stunning and won plenty of brownie points with wife. Great location, less than 10 minutes walk to train station and walking distance to everything on the island. IMG_1945.jpegIMG_1949.jpegIMG_1950.jpegIMG_1946.jpegIMG_1947.jpegIMG_1944.jpegIMG_1948.jpeg

Property: Sofitel Darling Harbour
Status: Accor+ Signature Platinum
Room booked: Luxury Room, 1 King Size Bed, Corner Room - Historic side view
Room upgraded/type: No
Rate: Stay Plus + $150 upgrade
Free internet: Yes
Welcome drink: Yes, used both in-app in Club Millesime
Welcome gift: Yes, usual mediocre red wine and 2 bottles of sparkling water
Early check in/late out: 1300 (usually 1500)/1600 (usually 1100)
Access to executive lounge (if existing): Yes, from 1200 on day of arrival (before room ready) and after check-out
General comments: Advised a week before arrival and a day before arrival when could complete check-in early that I would be arriving about 1100, but room was not ready when we arrived, I guess it is a request, not a guarantee. No upgrade - I was expecting I'd at least move from Historic view to Darling Harbour view, and I'd paid for the upgrade over the standard Stay Plus for this reason.

Intended to check-in upstairs at Club Millesime but the guy at reception was eager to do it there, and then when it was done, wouldn't allow me to access Club Millesime until 12, which by then was a 15-minute wait. Room was ready an hour later and asking upstairs for a late checkout I was given 1600, which is the latest they give and the latest I've ever received, which I was happy for. Advised I could have both afternoon teas as I would be a guest during both times - thought that was pretty good, as I would have expected to not be entitled on day of checkout.

Room card issued at Club Millesime didn't allow us to get back to Club Millesime level. Had to go downstairs and get a new card, which then didn't have checkout at the correct time, so that required another trip to reception. Digital key on phone would not work. Was looking forward to my first digital key at a hotel, and it was a real let down.

Overall, stay was good, I do enjoy the hotel but can see their views are about to be royally buggered. Hopefully they have a plan for how they're going to adapt, perhaps Historic view is the new premium ;)

Not sure if anyone has stayed at the Mondarin Singapore Duxton, If you have been upgraded to a room with club benefits do you usually get them included (original room was a basic room and no breakfast)? A friend of mine is staying their and they have Accor + (SILVER Accor tier status)

I’ve not stayed at the Mondrian, but in general with Accor properties, and if upgraded, you will get the room but not the benefits, unless your status provides for them already (which isn’t the case for your friend).

Still worth a visit the lounge and check if they have access based on staying in a club room (I wouldn’t highlight that it was an upgrade), but they should expect the answer to be ‘No’.

Cheers,
Matt.

I assumed this would be the answer but thought I would check on others experience

There is no lounge so there are no rooms with club benefits, unfortunately.

Correct. Per the Accor website the hotels in Singapore with lounges seem to be limited to select Sofitel, Raffles, Pullman, Novotel and Mercure properties:

In any event, stayed at a number of properties with lounges I am of the opinion that unless it’s a Sofitel or perhaps Raffles lounge you aren’t missing out on much. Certainly the ibis Styles and Mercure lounges I’ve visited left a lot to be desired with lukewarm finger food.

The description of their room - Pinnacle Reserve states the following:

Nestled atop Mondrian Singapore, the Pinnacle Reserve offers a refined retreat with stunning views. Enjoy exclusive club benefits, including breakfast at Christina's or Bottega di Carna, and evening coughtails at Christina's.

I've never seen one in an Ibis Styles.
In fairness, I was staying at an ibis Styles in Seoul. Perhaps that explains it (I couldn't find any photos from my camera roll on visiting that lounge). By the way, Seoul isn't the only city that has ibis hotels with lounges. São Paulo has one at the ibis Congonhas.

And if I may add one more thing, ibis hotels can also have suites, and if you are nice enough you might even get upgraded to one, as was the case when I stayed at ibis Styles in Canberra. It's for reasons like that, expecting the unexpected that I patronize ibis properties, speaking of:

Property: ibis Sydney Barangaroo
Status: Accor+ Platinum
Room booked: Standard Room 1 Queen Bed
Room upgraded/type: Superior Room 1 Queen bed & chaise
Rate: Red Hot Rooms, $119.50/night
Free internet: Yes
Free Breakfast: Yes, made to order
Welcome drink: Yes, used at bar for 1 flat white to go
Welcome gift: No
Early check in/late out: Not needed

For my final stay at an Accor property whilst in Australia I decided to stay at the ibis Sydney Barangaroo which is quite close to Darling Harbour. The rate was quite attractive at $119.50/night and given I needed a mini writing retreat was in order (also wanted to walk alongside darling harbour one last time).

Check-in was a bit confusing at agent pulled up the wrong reservation (apparently there were two people who shared the same last name as yours truly checking in that day). However, after sorting that out, I was informed that I received an upgrade to a better room. No welcome gift was offered which wasn't a surprise as I was expecting there to be a welcome gift in the room (there wasn't one). Oh well, I cannot complain, the room was nice for the monies spent:

Breakfast was complimentary (after reminding the bar that I'm Accor Platinum) and a-la carte, consisting of three items off the menu (a main, a side and a drink). Ultimately I chose the avocado and feta sandwich, fruit salad and a flat white:

Would I stay here again? Absolutely at this price. It's a nice little hotel close to the action in Sydney and one that does treat elites fairly well might I add.

Pullman Hanoi lounge was acceptable. Will be trying Zhuhai and Jing'an Pullmans next month, hoping they are OK too

Does Accor Platinum give you executive lounge access as Swissotel in Sydney if not booked into a executive room? If so, do you need to ask for access or is it automatically coded on your room card? Also is breakfast decent in the lounge or better in the restaurant? Thanks in advance
