I wonder what the rental company thinks of the sticker use, and the attempts to remove it after the incident.

In these Terms and Conditions:

Overhead Damage means:
(d) Damage to the Vehicle; or
(e) Third Party Loss,
caused by:
(i) contact between the part of the Vehicle that is at or above the level of the top of the front windscreen with objects overhanging or obstructing its path;
(ii) objects being placed on the roof of the Vehicle; or
(iii) You or any person standing or sitting on the roof of the Vehicle.
Beware - that is overhead damage, and likely not covered by the excess or the insurance. Renter will likely be up for the full cost of repairs (to both the truck and the structure they have hit).
She was a director of a company which was hit with a $3M GST bill. She resigned when the ATO refused to settle for less than $2.3m and the company folded a week later.Damages payment would come from the slush fund, wouldn’t it?
