Hi all, I'm about to book BAH-MEL via DOH using velocity points (BAH-DOH on QR and DOH-MEL on VA operated by QR). I have two questions:

1 - Does anyone have experience in booking two legs in one velocity booking by calling up? I can book first reward from BAH to DOH then business on a VA flight operated by QR from DOH-MEL but can't seem to book them together using the website as they don't seem to cater for split class fares.

2- If I am booked on a first reward ticket from BAH-DOH then have an 8 hour layover in DOH, with an onwards business reward flight to MEL can I use the first class lounge in DOH or am I relegated to the business lounge? If they are on two different bookings does this change this at all?

Thanks in advance!

Is that still true on the VA flights?
I was always led to believe that your onwards flight must be on a QR operated flight
There is specific reference:
International lounge access to QR owned and operated lounges and 3rd party partner lounges is available when travelling on a QR operated flight. (including Virgin Australia flights operated by Qatar Airways with a VA flight number between Australia and Doha).
