Today I have tried to buy ticket on LATAM web site. My CC payment kept getting rejected so I ring their customer care number.
Price of flights given on Latam web site was U$5138.05 Sydney-Sao Paulo-Sydney
I was told if Latam customer care team member book the flight for me, it will cost U$5221.00 total. I have agreed to this despite it was not my fault that I could not book online.
I have clearly requested verbally and in written form (please see attached) this ticket to be Premium Business Full. I also sent them a screenshot of Web price and conditions attached to ticket that I wanted to purchase.
Shortly after I was sent booking confirmation where no ticket class or luggage allowance and cancellation conditions were noted.
I asked Latam team member clearly if I can cancel this ticket when I was told; yes I can cancel this ticket before first departure. No problem.
After all this confirmation and payment was made I noticed in my Latam app that luggage was not included and that ticket can not be cancelled. Guess 'I' class ticket was issued. I realized then that this is not Business full ticket as requested multiple times but only Standard ticketI
After my complain that this is not deal as agreed I was offered to buy Flex ticket for additional U$630 (where web price is U$310). I asked for one hour to make up my mind then was given by Latam stuff only 5 minutes to make decision if I'm to accept offer to pay for upgrade or to get my ticket cancelled. Under pressure I opted for later. They send me unofficial notice that my trip was cancelled and refund will be issued in 15 days, however trip is still active in my app.
Now I have no ticket or money in my account.
I'm disappointed.

That's pretty terrible service from LATAM, but sadly is about what I've come to expect from them. Their website regularly rejects Australian credit cards, too. :(

Would it be worth using a travel agent to book this instead?

The OP's other recent LATAM thread. Same problem~same trip?

As above, booking via a real Travel Agent may be the solution, even if a few $ more.

Thinking of flying Qantas PE instead. Business went thru the roof in last few days and as it is daylight fly I'm not so desperate for lay flat bed.
Question is; If I buy Qantas PE return Sydney-Sao Paulo with all flights with QF numbers and I miss connecting flight from Sao Paulo on LATAM flight what happens next?
Next Qantas flight is 2 days later and LATAM does not offer PE on this route?
There is only one connection offered on Qantas site and that is with 2 hrs layover in SCL....bit tight for my liking..
Hmmm....I'm not comfortable? Any suggestions?

There are usually more than one QF codeshare connection between SCL-GRU.
Maybe the other connections on QF codeshare are sold out (even though Latam might still be selling seats - depends on the codeshare relationship).

You can:
1)Try other dates
2)Book the one with 2hr layover in a single ticket QF codeshare. If QF27 is late arriving into SCL it is their responsibility to get you to GRU but may not be same day if seats are unavailable.
3) book the QF27 to SCL and separately book the afternoon SCL-GRU - different tickets - more time on ground if you. Ok the 4pm to GRU but if QFis late into SCL, not their responsibility to get you to GRU
4) use a TA to see if they can get it all on the one ticket
5) fly via LAX/DFW and MIA with QF/AA
6) ring Latam again - maybe you get another agent.
