Agree with your thoughts on the BA T5 F lounge although I will admit the food last visit was better than the rubbish served up on a couple of previous visits.
 
Have to agree with the comment on AA.
Have dropped to gold now but was directed to flagship lounge in Chicago last week and it was very impressive.
French champers on offer.
 
I was sorry to hear Auckland First Class Lounge was being rolled up into a new "premium"lounge .
Sounds good but past experience shows the initial "premium" experience gets enhanced downhill pretty quicky.

WP used to get anytime access with friends and this.was removed a
long time ago. At least they still get access on arrival for themselves.
Really? I was refused entry to Melbourne's domestic Business lounge last year -- the reception person said only P1s had that privilege.

They were wrong. As a Platinum you were incorrectly denied.
