I have also had this experience with QATAR airways confusing lounge access rules. They're also quite troublesome to book a reward ticket with, considering their outrageous carrier charges. In my opinon, QATAR is quite obstreperous with doing it's part in the OneWorld alliance, and it would be no loss to see them removed from the program.

Have you seen what others also have as carrier charges?

Agree. You also need to consider their ownership in IAG (BA and IB) - biggest shareholder.

They should use The House

Particularly as it's now owned by Swissport, it Ethiad.

I have an upcoming flight Sydney to Doha in economy. I am Qantas WP and also Virgin WP, no status on Qatar. I have attached my Qantas FF number to my booking, which was made directly through Qatar.

I know I can use the Sydney QF F Lounge. But can I get into the NZ lounge too?

Update. Let in to NZ lounge after a brief conversation at the desk. Boarding pass scan failed but as soon as I said Oneworld Emerald they welcomed me with open arms. Qatar boarding pass also said Air New Zealand Lounge on it. Success!

Surprised it didn't scan it it had the Air NZ words on it.

Just as a future comment, this is in line with OW lounge access - Airport Lounges: oneworld Lounges & Airport Lounge Access

You should get access to the Air NZ lounge as OWS/OWE travelling on QR exSYD, regardless of who that OWS/OWE is with

When QF shuffle us to gate 55 for the AKL flight, it would be nice to get into the AIr NZ lounge after the long and arduous trek from the QF F lounge. I wonder what the price difference is to get QR codeshare SYD-AKL flight is. Although, with my luck, it would be the day that the flight leaves from the Oneworld side and I would have a job explaining all this to Mrs KT.
