Qantas
LT Gold
Virgin
Red
Oneworld
Sapphire
Same city pairs and dates but higher prices, still $159 for DRW ex BNE for Ozfest is not bad.

Some really good QF airfares for early next year.

I really can't afford then right now but the saving is significant enough to warrant booking them early.

Why would QF need to have a sale - aren't their airfares always cheaper than Virgin??? (That's what I've been led to believe)

I am not sure that anyone has said Qantas are always cheaper than Virgin. Many, including myself have said that they are frequently cheaper than Virgin due to their greater capacity.

In any case, to use your logic, they would have sales to counter sales that Virgin run and in doing so to to ensure their market share remains the same.

I think actually what you've been led to believe is that virgin blue aren't always cheaper than qantas. :p

I'd love to book some of these for next year, but I really should wait until next month I think.

I am sorry you missed the play on words ;), unless you disagree their move is coming at a cost.

I think that the point a number of people make is that there is often better value in the Qantas all-inclusive fare, versus the value of other airlines a la carte fares.

It is always worth checking the competition!

With domestic travel I've found that it's easy to compare QF with DJ on short sectors... no need to check luggage and QF's snack offerings are so poor they really have no monetary value!
