Had to laugh at this bit of the news.com story on the disruptions but I am sure their passengers are not laughing at the cost of organising their own accomodation:

As passengers sought accommodation last night after Tiger’s entire fleet was grounded for the day, the budget airline announced a 72-hour sale with fares as little as $15 for travel from August 1. “Once again we are proving that when it comes to getting every day Aussies from A to B you can’t get a better deal than a Tiger deal,” said Tiger Airways’ Vanessa Regan.

It would have been more laughable if the quote said:

'Once again we are proving that when it comes to getting Aussies from A to B everyday, you can’t get a better deal than a Tiger deal,”

They are probably the ones that bought insurance, Tiger in general dont provide accomodation and dont even have staff working at other airports:

As a natural disaster, the situation is outside the airline's control.

Tiger Airways is working hard to minimise any inconvenience to passengers affected by a cancelled service with a range of provisions to assist them with their preferred alternate travel arrangement(s). These include:
Free of charge transfer to next available Tiger Airways flight.
OR
Free of charge transfer to another Tiger Airways flight on an alternate date.
OR
A full refund back to the original credit card used to pay for the flight.
OR
A credit voucher for future travel with Tiger Airways valid for 6 months. Please note: Tiger Airways' call centre is experiencing a high volume of calls at this time. The airline is focused on assisting all passengers to get to their destination as soon as possible or to assist them to make their alternate travel arrangement(s).
