All Virgin Australia flights from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane to Perth will have business class from 28 September.
However, unless something is going to change fast that means these will also be the flights WITHOUT the IFE. Perhaps something will change sooner rather than later on that front.
In Business Class you'll be provided with a Digiplayer XT which will have a selection of six movies, ten TV programs, music podcasts and games.

Hmmm Up from $825 PE to $1499 J, Thats one expensive Luke Mangan feed. Sadly, I think they have upped the prices far too much, and the benefit of price advantage is gone. Will be interesting to see the loadings, also on the subject of loadings, anyone know what percentage of Pax who fly into PER are through pax, ie: continuing on to remote mining communities/sites, or other regional ports? I would think that would be substantial, and a market to which Virgin wont be able to touch.
Bold move with their share price in the coughper.
I still think they need to sort out the IFE situation. If they aren't going to go with a seat back option they need in seat power for the transcons - extremely disapointed that there's no sign on that if they are going with wifi/ handheld based IFE. Digi players are kinda cough and very inconsistent. They are nominally included in a flexi fare but out of about 8-10 flexi flights i have only been offered one once.
Digiplayers on virgin domestic flights have never been included for FLEXI FARE guests. They only receive complimenatry live 2 air if fitted.
I think that's ambiguous. It says the fare includes free "In Flight Entertainment" where available. If there are digi players on the flight it should theoretically include them shouldn't it? It doesn't exclude them anywhere as far as i can see and i have been offered one (once) before.
It seems pretty clear that they are included as part of a flexi fare on Tasman routes. Why would the rule be any different on a domenstic flight where digi players are the available IFE?
Actually, if they are planing on not making them available as part of a flexi on Transcon routes that would be ridiculous.
The "In Flight Entertainment" only refers to the foxtel live 2 air component if fitted ( not the pay per view movies)
There are only ever 8 x digiplayers loaded on rouge non live 2 air a/c and these are for PE guests only.
I would say if a digiplayer was offered, it was as a courtesy, perhaps because of your status,
So all will be those coughpy digiplayers.
With the advent of Android/iOS devices, especially the Tablets/iPad market, is it just me or am I being unreasonable in thinking that IFE for anything intra/interstate is really becoming a moot point?
You can't please all the people all of the time, and even when they have a system on the A330's (yes, it's old) people are still whinging that it's "not good enough"
Changing things on this scale takes time people. We can all agree that DJ are doing good things for us, and it's only going to get better, so sit back with a cup of tea, or have a bex and a good lie down. It'll all happen in due course. Good things come to those who wait, apparently![]()
Dedicated bathroom
I take it that is the media release markis10?
They are going to have to install some sort of barrier. The current purple plastic devider dosen't stop the Y pax at the moment!
I'm sure everyone will be given a key to the VA J washroom, only available to those seated in J![]()
