It depends how you look at it. The productivity commission when looking at airport charges used flexible fares, but in reality few buy them.
The same may be the case with tiger, full fares did not go up, but the availability of discounted fares has.
On my regular route sans TT (cbr-mel) QF is up to $129 from $89 Red e-deals, DJ up from $79 to $109 - plus I never see happy hour any more on this route.
Sure does depend on how you look at it. In my mind, lack of sale fares does not equal prices have gone up. I would never consider a bottom bucket sale fare as my benchmark, in the same way I wouldn't consider the end of season sales in clothing stores to be the average price of clothes. Is it really that hard to say....tigers back and so are $39 fares. Oh look! I should put out a shingle and start charging $150 an hour for that kind of marketing copy. :mrgreen:
