Just had a missed call from Qantas congratulating me on Platinum 1 and I will receive a new card next week

As i missed it, did anyone get a call and do they know what it is yet?

Cheers

Will have to spend more time going through the threat, cant find a summary of benefits. Has got me wondering now

The link in my post above has a page with three separate summaries with detail on the benefits of P1.

Found the summary, thnaks for that

The improved classic award booking seems good, otherwise pretty boring. Never saw the use of the host when travelling first though

Would you mind sharing your status credit earning, both QF and oneworld more broadly, for the past couple of years?

Congratulations to the first announced AFF WP1. Well done. Historic moment. Time for a drink or 2 to celebrate in the QF local. Oh yes, forgot QF do not trust their WP1's not to abuse ATA. Such a strange attitude to have in regard to their most prized and loyal top tier FFers.

Stranger still we have AFF WP1 lunches, individual WP1 phone calls but no formal WP1 announcement or defined benefits listed on the QF web site.

I guess QF are still working it out???

Requirements are 3600 SCs in the last 12 months with 2700 on QF Flight numbers.

There were two of the 'AFF16' confirmed to be P1 as well, just not made widely known on here (and I know one person has already changed their profile to have 'P1 + PG' or the like, but still, 'foundation member' and all ;)

And P1 still do not have Anytime Access either.

I forget the exact but think it was around 5400, nearly all QF. On 2570 already since june with 3 long haul trips left for the year (until dec) so will hit similar SC this round

Not happy I missed the call, was eating lunch and didnt even hear it. Wouldnt have mind knowing more but the message said that they will send an email soon which may fill in a few blanks

1 - The formal announcement is tomorrow. Today is courtesy calls to confirmed WP1s to explain - a personal experience.
2 - It wasn't an AFF WP1 lunch. It was an AFF lunch that covered a range of topics including potential Wp1 benefits.
3 - Frankly I think that Wp1 are probably the least likely to need ATA access as the majority of their flying is on QF as that is a requirement.
4 - Why so bitter?

Not sure if it is time to celebrate, just reinforces that I travel too much (well thats what the wife tells me). Would make the wife happy if they gave me money to spend in duty free (like sing air) so I could buy her something

Agree, ATA doesnt really matter, no matter which airline I travel I normally have some sort of lounge access. Where I travel the other airline lounges are normally better

Wonder if WP1 means your bag actually gets priority? Also the call centre might be handy with all the union strikes

Don't see how it would hurt to give ATA to P1s since the majority of their flying would have to be with QF anyway.

That's what your Angel is for, looking over your shoulder and fixing problems before you need to call. Apparently.

Havent had any problems yet with the strikes but when there has been issues they have already sorted before I get there anyway (when in their control). Wonder if they help out for OW flights or just QF?

Also got my call. Seems that the main benefit (other than being looked aftercare delays etc), is the ability to get extra redemption seats @ classic levels. Will be keen to test, as I was completely unsuccessful trying to gets seats in any class on some pre-Xmas intl travel.

I assume the seat access will only be on qf ,etal, but will be interesting to see.

Cheers

Based on Thursday's conversation it is just on QF metal and generally out of revenue buckets. For example a WP can request from say A class (discount F) but a WP1 will be able to request from F class (full fare F). It would be fascinating to get some real world data from WP1s on the forum - for example if doing a couple of bookings they could check what availability there is in various fare buckets before they book/request seats it would be really interesting for the rest of us.
