Yes the one who swore at his 14 year old daughter. He's the older one isn't he??? Dunno him, but something has always struck me about him as being a bit of a tosser???
No one finds it strange that other F pax had their phones on as well because they were tweeting about the incident?

I honestly dont know why the airlines bother any more - no-one turns them off anyway. The number in the overhead compartments alone that go off when you land is enough to tell you that.
I know. What's wrong with these people? Don't they know how to put their phone on silent?
.
Just turn the phone off......tool.
Have you noticed how many TR have photos of takeoff/landing.....
It's not so much the silent/not silent, if you want phones off (for safety), enforce it off. Otherwise dont hassle everyone and enforce it only sporadically.

If you look at the A380 safety card it specifically allows the use of digital cameras during take off/landing. This does put an interesting thought out there about the difference between a phone in flight mode and a digital camera.

Are you calling me a tool? :?: (perhaps Baldwin) Ignoring that I forgot a smiley on my post, see below. If so, I can only say I didn't say I leave my phone on.
Well, I've learnt something new today![]()
medhead - how could you even think that!
What strikes me more oddly than the fact that he rudely refused to turn off his phone* was that he kept it on just to play Words With Friends? That, if it is the reason, is ridiculous and certainly makes him a tool.
* The article states it so, but it is not clear if he was given a warning to turn it off (apart from the regular message imparted during the normal scripted PAs) or was simply read the riot act without warning and marched off.
To say that Baldwin will never fly AA again isn't a big deal for me - if he is going to act like a tosser as demonstrated as such, then if and when I do fly AA I'm glad to know there will potentially be one less tosser on board.
