Lovely TR !

The Pic of Vertigo looks amazing!

Question re the DPS-SYD... would you recommend the bulkhead or rather second row in J?

Cheers

I chose Row 2 for the legroom concern - but when onboard, Row 1 didn't look that space-prohibitive. Mind you, I still enjoyed being able to put my feet under the seat in front.

Thanks... booked Row 2 for PER-SYD next week. I'll hold my breath! :D

I don’t recall doing a bus before, so this was interesting. The great thing was that we could get close to the jets on the apron – quite cool, but irritating knowing that VA is too stingy to buy aerobridge access.

Probably less about being stingy and more due to the fact that your aircraft would have arrived in Bali around lunchtime, and was not used again till later that evening for your redeye.
I think there are only 8 aerobridges at the intl terminal, so doesn't really make sense to have it sitting there all day on the gate.
Depending what flight you arr/dep on in DPS, VA certainly offer aerobridge access depending on airport gate availability

Fair enough - though on the bus to apron, it looked like all the aircraft not at an aerobridge were the low cost airlines e.g. Air Asia (only exception to this was a Garuda 737), hence my assumption that it was a cost issue. Further, there were empty gates at the terminal.

The title says VA "DPS-SYD in J" when in fact you flew in P/E? You've sort of acknowledged it in the review but the headline is pretty misleading.

Indeed... I considered putting a minus after the J, but it looked weird and thought it would confuse people. As I was in J seats, with Y+ service, trying to spell this out in a short heading was tricky.

I hope your not too put out...
