<pure speculation> Just adding to the speculation. VH-VPD (the 1st 777) is back from major maintenance in NZ. At some point it was rumoured that there might be a reconfig of the J product in 1st half of this year - timing would be right to announce with the results this week if they've done something inside? </pure speculation>

Just to blow my own theory out of the water: VH-VPD headed off to LA yesterday as VA 1. Clearly not hanging around for an announcement tomorrow.

Well she will be back tomorrow!

True, i do have one ear out for rumours of people discovering a new product in flight - but haven't heard anything yet :)

They did that with VH-YFC, she was in service the day before the Virgin Australia rebranding announcement. However it was all Y and they wacked the J seats (and painted the new livery) overnight in CHC.

I doubt you could paint and put J seats in a 777 overnight.

VPD was in NZ for just over 2 weeks, and replaced immediately by VPE yesterday who did a ferry, if anything happened it would have been then! I doubt it though, other areas need work.

The primary reason was the C Check (if i have my alphabet correct) however at various points it was discussed that if anything was to be done with the interiors of the 777s, the two weeks they were out of the flight cycle would be the logical time to do it. If not now, i wouldn't expect anything to change any time soon.

Our DJ rep at work confirmed no changes to the interior longhaul products, just repaint and C checks....

im guessing something based around extra 330s from air aus?

Lots of plans for a330s i expect - but i doubt they'll be touching the Air Aus ones any time soon.
