Does anyone know, if I book a CX flight in Y+ and the operating aircraft does not have Y+ seating (equipment sub etc) - is there a policy on how this is handled?

- Partial Refund?
- Wait for next flight?
- Up to J?
- Down to Y?
- Choose your preference?

Any advice / policy published would be helpful.

Thanks

As a new Cathay Pacific product, our Premium Economy Class will be rolled out in phases. We will be progressively introducing it on Adelaide, Los Angeles, Melbourne and San Francisco route flights in August, Frankfurt route flights in September, and Brisbane and Mumbai route flights in October. We will then gradually introduce Premium Economy Class on other continental Europe and long-haul routes. By end of 2012, 48 of our aircraft will feature the new product.

I just did a test booking in Y+ from SYD-HKG-CDG - it appeared to stick me in Y in non-equipped aircraft, making Cathay's Y+ product even worse value for money...

Interesting, I tried that but the flights I selected all gave me Y+.

Will have another go.

Thanks.

Has anyone had any more experiences with the new Cathay product?
Work are going to book me on a flight from SYD-HKG flying Y+ on Cathay in July, fingers crossed I actually get Y+....

+1 for reviews. Considering booking CX Y+ from JFK and would love to hear how it compares to the QF product.

+2 for review - was contemplating Y+ for trip to SFO but couldnt get flight timings to work so have ended up on QF (on sale!).

Slightly OT. But has anyone else noticed that QF have not updated the T&Cs to show any earning on CX new Y+ classes. W and R are not listed at all...does that mean no earn??

Have they commenced flying aircraft with the new cabin yet?

Either way, you’d earn full Y SC’s and 10% bonus on points most likely, but not always as JAL proves.

Post above says flights commenced 1 April on some routes I think...either way, they are definitely selling Y+. Maybe a call to QF to confirm. The pricing exUS with CX is substantially cheaper than QF for the same periods.
