Benefits of First Class (for those that don't drink)

Is it just me or do others get the feeling that if you can afford to fly first class you can probably afford salt and pepper shakers for home?

I really wanted to nick the mini salt and pepper grinders on my last EY flight. Perfect size for traveling and I haven't seen them anywhere to buy. (Cue, hopefully, 46,732 members posting links to commercially available small salt and pepper grinders!!)

The VS ones were shaped like planes I think so unusual and actually J rather than F.

If they are those electronic ones, they might be able to afford the grinders but they probably can't afford to keep up the battery supply.

Once you get into First a few times you start wondering how could you do it better.
Private jet or book the whole First Class section are decisions faced by a few of those high net worth individuals who want privacy.

Reminds me of a question my 6 year old asked when our family were the only passengers in a Thai F cabin (travelling on US DM I hasten to add, not for cash). About halfway through the ten hour flight he turned to me and asked "are we the only people on this aeroplane?".

Lisa doesn't drink either. But then she's six, so there's still time. Here she is a couple of years ago checking into her suite on EK. I can tell you that she loves First without alcohol. ;)

I think thats where NYGuy steps in?

Haven't ever had to pay cash for First as points flights have been out there on SQ or QF.
Mrscove is quite prepared to buy tickets but so far I haven't needed to ask. Now Mrscove does not drink any alcohol so I have to handle her share of the alcohol. She would rate food, entertainment and sleep/comfort on overnight flights.

First class....it's about arriving in the best shape possible. It's really that simple.

I do remember our first flight in F on Thai. Sometime during the night a beautiful FA wafted through the cabin and she REALLY tucked a couple of people in. Its like being in and ADVERT no real life at all ;-)

JOC469, good to see things haven't changed since the late 90s / early 00s :D
