Brisbane drinks 24th August 2011 - in DJ lounge

After our visit to the opening of the new BNE J lounge this afternoon, and as a show of support for DJs recent improvements, we would like to host the next Brisbane drinks in the DJ lounge.

Please respond by the 3rd of August so I can make contact with DJ to see if we can organise access. Discussions in the new lounge yesterday indicate that this should be possible, but nothing is confirmed yet.

It would be very helpful if you could indicate your QF/DJ status when you reply. This is purely so that I can let the DJ staff know the rough make up of the attendees, and so we can work out how many people would need to be comped entry.

Come and celebrate/commiserate the 24 august QF announcement in style!

Sounds like a great idea and does sound tempting after today's taste of the lounge, but for 2 possible issues:

1. I don't want to have to sell my left kidney to pay for the parking ticket at the end of the night

2. It'll be a long taxi ride back to the GC if I happen to have one too many Asahi'

Coachtrans it back to the CBD - they do drop offs at Central then PT it back.

Problem solved.

I spend more than $30 at AFF drinks anyway - so that is what I would pay to and from. Sounds doable to me.

Colour me interested.

It's also the same day the Qantas changes get announced. We can mourn the loss of more QF flights and movement to JQ.

We discussed the issue of parking cost/taxi cost/air-train cost when working out the feasibility of holding the drinks night in the lounge. General consensus was that you'd save at least as much by not having to pay for food/drinks as you would have to pay for transport/parking, so overall it should be fairly price neutral.
