The location for the sixth annual Asian lounge crawl has been chosen - Hong Kong (HKG). There is quite a bit of competition between carriers on the AU-HKG routes at the moment, so hopefully this will continue through next year.

The CX Pier J lounge has opened since we were last there and is well worth a look.

For the uninitiated it is important that you book a flight on a One World carrier.

If you book a QF flight (QF metal and QF ticket)* you can also include the EK lounge in your 'crawl'.

Here are the previous lounge crawls:

SIN lounge crawl 24 Aug 2013
HKG lounge crawl 8 June 2014
KUL SIN lounge crawl 7 June 2015
HKG lounge crawl 12 June 2016
NRT lounge crawl 11 June 2017

Don't worry if you don't have status, as there are usually enough Platinums around to guest.

*Edit: added QF detail - thanks Hvr.

I am so in after this year's run.

A small point re the Emirates lounge, it has to be a Qantas flight on a Qantas ticket, i.e. the ticket number starts with 081. No use trying with an AA redemption.

Very interested. Not planning to be in Thailand around the same time so will be looking for cheap Qantas flights with double SCs to begin the new membership year.

As usual, I am booked to go to the USA on that long weekend. :D

Enjoy ...

Gold for me at this stage thanks.
I love the OW HKG lounge options :).

I might look at this, so silver for now.

Enjoy ...

BRT and Wine Do are on the previous weekend, 2-3 June 2018.

And how can anyone plan that far in advance, yes some people can but not me.

Easily, it's just the Oz / USA positioning flights - ticket the bookends and then fill up over the next several months.

At least you can miss the expensive hotel prices in New York.

As usual, I will probably be in Adelaide that week.

I have to book leave up to 18 months ahead, so sometimes we don't have a choice but to plan so far out.

Oh, what is BRT?

HKG lounge runs trumps over any Basket Press(es) but hey, each to their own. ;)
JT, I will try to attend, seems to have more successes on hkg runs than any other ones.

Flyertalk 18th Annual BRT -

A weekend of Flyertalk events in New York on the 1st or 2nd weekend in June.
... or 3rd.

There's a "Soup DO" on the Friday night, the "BRT" (Brooklyn Reality Tour) Saturday and the Wine DO Sunday night. I've done 3 BRT's & Soup do's and 2 Wine Do's.

Next year I won't be doing any.

I was watching the 2017 NRT crawl with interest as I only need the smallest reason to go to Japan, however it has been a big year of travel so did not attend. With this much notification put me down for Gold I am sure I can plan some other travel to tie in with this and swing by HK on return to AU.
