I get in at ~8:05pm from BKK. Will more than likely stay at Holiday Inn Express in Kowloon.

I may attend for a quiet drink depending on where drinks/dinner are held if no difficulties getting there.

Great idea. What cuisine do people have in mind? Will definitely attend this one.

I am out - will be in Radelaide.

I have booked Holiday Inn Express for the Saturday night. Think I need to connect via Central to get there on MTR.

Has anyone decided on venue for drinks/dinner?

Will post by the end of the week the venue and details

I'm in for dinner. Just putting out a couple of suggestions: Sai Kung Seafood Street, where we went in 2014, or I can thoroughly recommend Tung Po at Northpoint. There is a MTR station across the road. If you've ever seen the Anthony Bourdain episode on Hong Kong on No Reservations, Tung Po is the Dai Pai Dong with Chef Robby. Pretty cheap, great food but noisy. Still it's a great place fora group.

If you like roast duck, goose, suckling pig etc there is Yat Lok at Central. I normally travel out to Yat Lok at Tai Po Market for my roast goose fix, but that is a 40 min train ride out to the New Territories (I think Tai Po Market is one of the last stops on the line). Apparently the food is the same at the Central restaurant and is only a 4 minute walk from Central MTR. Yat Lok is hands down the best Cantonese Roast Meats Restaurant in Hong Kong and dirt cheap- the roast goose is to die for. It has one Michelin star.

Going via HK island on the MTR is the fastest, although you don't have to do so. There are 2 changes on the MTR via HK island.

Alternatives include:
1. Taking the green line, then the red line. Takes about 8 mins longer, but it has only 1 change at Mong Kok where you only need to get to the other side of the platform.
2. Take bus 296D from the nearby bus terminal. Buses depart every 20 mins on the 0, 20, and 40. It takes the expressway to Jordan, and has a couple of stops down Nathan Road before going back up to Kowloon Station.

May be not this time, but have you tried the restaurants out in Sham Tseng? They're supposed to be really good as well.
