After some initially positive responses to a "long weekend " in ZQN.
I am floating the idea of a food and wine weekend in ZQN.
I'm looking at dates that won't (hopefully) compromise other AFFr' events. With this in mind I'm recommending a long lead time. Weekends in the Barossa are a little easier to attend and plan, than crossing the ditch.
My initial thoughts are October 2016. ( I will come back with some dates shortly ) .
I have had some promising conversations about wineries and restaurants. October is spring and the best of the wineries stocks will be available.
Queenstown has a great mix of "signature" restaurants and an eclectic mix of bars and other eateries.
For the AFF component ( I'm sure some will tack on a bit of extra travel) I'm suggesting 2-3 days of "organized" activities.
Ideas so far:
Day out on the Ernslaw. A visit to two ( at least) local wineries
Dinner at one of the better Harbourside restaurants .lunch at the restaurant on top of the hill. ( I'm NOT a fan of buffets. But this was quite good) Gondola ride included , great view of Queenstown.
So let the debate begin.
