After some initially positive responses to a "long weekend " in ZQN.
I am floating the idea of a food and wine weekend in ZQN.
I'm looking at dates that won't (hopefully) compromise other AFFr' events. With this in mind I'm recommending a long lead time. Weekends in the Barossa are a little easier to attend and plan, than crossing the ditch.
My initial thoughts are October 2016. ( I will come back with some dates shortly ) .
I have had some promising conversations about wineries and restaurants. October is spring and the best of the wineries stocks will be available.
Queenstown has a great mix of "signature" restaurants and an eclectic mix of bars and other eateries.
For the AFF component ( I'm sure some will tack on a bit of extra travel) I'm suggesting 2-3 days of "organized" activities.
Ideas so far:
Day out on the Ernslaw. A visit to two ( at least) local wineries
Dinner at one of the better Harbourside restaurants .lunch at the restaurant on top of the hill. ( I'm NOT a fan of buffets. But this was quite good) Gondola ride included , great view of Queenstown.
So let the debate begin.

Plenty of time to save up for this, so I'm Platinum 1

Interested but will be date dependent...will be in Lisbon in early Oct 16 so would prefer late Oct 16 :)

Interested also.

As a side note, I am hoping to get to Central Otago later this year... Perhaps I should force myself to do some research.

Depending on the date, definitely interested. Easier to fly to ZQN than visit our daughter in Perth !!

At present I'm considering the 21st or the 28th. (2016). But there's time before we have to lock it in.

Queenstown is a lovely place to visit. Interested but would have to see what else is on at that time.
