Tuesday the 1st of November is the Cup Day holiday in Melbourne, which may or may not be a good thing for the long weekend of 28 October

Subscribing. Definitely interested as this could be combined with our wedding anniversary.

Ok. My plan is to have one organized and one voluntary event.
1. Voluntary event : book at your own discretion a (Saturday) BBQ trip on the Earnslaw. 2. Wine tour ( coach) details TBA ( may need input from Buzz) .

With some opportunities for dine around at one of the better restaurants. ( Botswana Butchery)

I thought that was already (secretly) PER? :p

It does seem to be at the same time of year as AFF10 would be on though.

I wont officially be able to make NZ without a special visa, but there's plenty of time to look into it I suppose ;)

Apparently very secretly! I thought there had been talk for a few years about having AFF in NZ...

Am not going but as my wife is from around those parts here's a couple of suggestions. In my opinion Bannockburn is by far the best wine area in Central Otago, its about 1/2 an hour from ZQN but it's an extremely scenic drive through the Kawarau Gorge and aside from the wines/wineries which are a destination in themselves, some of the wineries provide an extremely nice place to have lunch. My suggestions for lunch would include Mt Difficulty, Carrick and Felton's (in about that order) but others may have suggestions too.

There has been. But with PER second in the poll and still in Australia, I thought it might be ahead.

Regardless, AFF#10 or not I'll do my best to get to NZ. Thankfully I have accom over there sorted! :p

some of my personal favourites in there too.

Just confirming that Shrek and myself are currently in ZQN and very happy at the prospect of returning out of ski season - we couldn't even get a table at the Cow last night :!:

Just drinks coughtails at The Bunker. They are quite nutritious.

Just found this event .
I'm definitely interested subject to other travel of course!
I just love Queenstown and have visited many times over the years but not for ages.

As this is more than 12 months away, I haven't done any serious planning. Other than to canvas dates. So far the Melbourne Cup weekend looks the goods. I shall begin planning in earnest come January.
